I believe Bill Maher is saying how the left has changed rather drastically from several years ago.
For the WORSE not for the better.
He believes these changes are why there’s such a en masse movement or shift by millions upon millions of people towards those who speak the truth, common sense, etc.
Many are moving away from mainstream media, those who demonstrate woke politics, etc.

Yeah, media is pretty much decided on making democrats lose. Its amazing how the government shifted from an attempted coup to quiet and competent, albeit slow, progress. And the media acts like they need to treat the latter with the same criticism as the former just to appear fair. I mean, republicans are still actively sabotaging the country while simultaneously complaining about the problems they case. And people are still dead set on rewarding them for this. It seems like if we had responsible joirnalists we would have a very different Republican party but basically the same democratic party. It's unfortunate that this is how authoritarinism is goong to take over the US (people not doing their jobs properly). Makes me wonder if thats how authoritarianism has. always taken over.
just as the Republican party "speakers" and spotlight have been hijacked by the extreme far-right BS... the Democrat side has been overtaken by the BS extreme-nonsense far left, that is very true
difference would be that, when it comes to elections and voting... the Republicans can be, easily lead into a united front... while the left just run around like headless chickens so yeah, it is very possible that Democrats won't do well for the next elections

So, I don’t think the consensus is that the right has been hijacked by far-right speakers, as much as the left has been hijacked by far-left speakers/proponents.
In other words, more extreme and far-left thinking, policies, and public figures are more common in the left, get adequate attention from the media, and are followed by more people
On the right, extreme or far-right thinking isn’t as popular, given attention to, adhered to by the general right, etc.
For the left, the lines amongst what is extreme and not are way more blurred.
This assessment is based on popular figures in more of the underground media world.
most of the fringe-far right movements and figures were barely known to the "common American" and were hardly ever any part of the Washington politics every day talk...

The Left used to be quite reasonable. Free thinking, fairly tolerant, and anti-authoritarian. I didn't agree with a lot of what they said, but they could argue maturely and effectively. Christopher Hitchens was probably my favorite leftist. Along with the things I didn't like that he would say, there was a lot I could agree with him on. But his is a bygone generation of leftists. Now they're just a bunch of fucking woke halfwits that wake up offended, and think everyone that disagrees with one of their lunatic viewpoints is racist or transphobic. They have nothing substantive to say. It's all hysterical virtue-signalling and vacuous sloganeering.
Yeah I agree, the dems seem to focused on pandering to small segments of the population and not really championing any thing that will really be of long term benefit to the whole. I mean there are real things they can to to help people in general, but they pander to LGBTQ and minorities when honestly they could get broader support on issues that really impact lives for the better across the board.

Congres shifts often. Of course there will be losses taken. We're also in the middle of two global crises (energy and a pandemic). People are going to lose seats. Common sense is also a catch all term so that doesn't really mean anything. I will say though that I definitely don't see Biden winning a second term but I also dont see Republicans winning the next election unless they have a less polarizing figurehead. Then again, people are weird. 🤷🏿.

I am not enjoying these gas prices either. Because of him I am stranded 2,438 miles from home as we speak. When last I flew my ticket was $167. Now it's gonna cost me $1459 to get home! @zagor why? We have 48 percent of the world's oil reserve and the dumb ass on charge doesn't want to allow us to make use of our most valuable assets, oil, natural gas, and coal. Do you honestly believe we can afford to go green with nations like China and Russia at the doorsteps of our allies and overseas assets? Only a moron would give into that green energy bs in such a time of international tensions and economic calamity. Who gives a shit about green energy if we need help now? Are Democrats going to buy my plane tickets home? And there are people who won't be able to drive to work now or afford the increase in food which is related to fuel prices. We've lost our ally India in this by the way. Pushing the green energy wasn't going to work for them and numerous other countries. And with China, Russia, India, Brazil, and Venezuela using the fuel still it means 1) our affects to stop global emissions isn't even going to Register and 2) we will become poorer and weaker while they get stronger This is foolishness!

I think the right talks about all of those in a reasonable and tolerant way.
You can’t even have a convo about how trans shouldn’t compete in women’s sports because it’s unfair to a leftist because the minute you do you get labeled intolerant
