1400 years ago came Islam to those regions and turned in religiously driven hellholes, all former achievements have been destroyed or forgotten.
This happened in Europa as well as Christianity become dominant belief. Maybe it was less violent and less destructive but it happened. Free minds like DaVinci or Copernicus operated always on brink of being prosecuted by inquisition court. First with Renaissance and secularization came the era of science in XIX century.
Arabs are still in dark ages and it will remain there for a while. Those people don't create anything of value with exception of pumping oil with western technology.

What's to hear? Islam suppresses all ideas that don't contribute to the spread of Islam. Muslims contribute nothing to humanity. Their part in math is pretty much limited to the use of the great circle distance formula to calculate the azimuth angle from a local meridian to the Kaaba in Mecca. Who else needs to use that? I guess if we want to send a cruise missile to blow up the Kaaba we can use it, but otherwise Islam isn't doing anything useful.
