I'm not democrat or American so I don't care but you can smell the bullshit on this even from this side of the world.
First, are we really taking anything from an account called "Defeat democrats" at face value? Have you bothered spending even 2 minutes looking up the numbers? No? Let me do that for you...
According to detention watch and the American Civil Liberties Union, a total of 56 people died in ICE detention under Obama over a period of 8 years
During Trumps first presidency, the first 3 years were pretty much in line with the one of Obama. In the last year, there was a large spike due to COVID.
During Trumps second presidency, in the first 500 days alone, 52 people died already according to human rights watch. So in 1.5 years of Trump, almost as many people died as under 8 years of Obama.
So no, it's not even close and that post is bullshit, who would have thought...
Also, was there a massive outcry from republicans back then? No? Why not? Every person dying is one too much. Justifying something going wrong today with something wrong from the past has never been a good argument. Independent of your political party, you should hold your government accountable for what's going wrong. If it makes you feel better, point at the past while doing so but do it without lying. But looks like that's asked for too much for most maga people...
I'm happy to stay corrected if you can provide trustworthy sources providing the exact numbers. Just saying "human rights watch are lying" or some shitty propaganda account on X/Truth social I will ignore, don't have the patience to deal with that.
I have the links to the sources I specified, GAG just didn't let me add them for whatever stupid reason 😒
Obama's presidency www.detentionwatchnetwork.org/.../...-DWN-NIJC.pdf
Trumps first presidency https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/arti cles/PMC7870381/? hl=en-US#:~:text=Of%2038%20deaths%20reported%20in%20ICE%20custody,1.499%20in%20FY2019%2C%20and%2010.833%20in%20FY2020
(Remove the space in articles, gag doesn't like the link)
Trumps second presidency www.hrw.org/.../rising-deaths-in-an-expanding-us-immigration-detention-system
I did my search and it said 67 people died in ICE custody.
Provide your sources for both Obama and Trump then đ¤ˇââď¸ even if it's 67 for Obama, we are still comparing apples and oranges because it's 8 vs 1.5 years.
My point was the when done under Obama, the media didn't say ish.
www.hrw.org/.../us-deaths-immigration-detention
And my point was that the statement on your photo is wrong. And that also explains the difference in public perception. The reality is, that the deaths in the Trumps second presidency are multiple times higher than under Obama because the compared timeframe is different. That obviously has an impact on how people will look at things and how they judge it. From what I can see, the ICE detention death rate under Obama was in line with both republican presidents directly before and after him. Only Trumps second term has a huge spike.
Context matters.
No. The photo is accurate. Dems nor the media didn't say a damn thing when Obama put kids in cages, when he was deporting people like crazy nor when people died while under ICE custody or shootouts happened which was dozens.
I don't expect you to know these things because you don't live in the U. S.
I literally gave you the numbers and explanation why it's different. I don't need to live in the US to read and understand them. I also checked your link and it's talking about a small subset of cases and not the total numbers.
But anyway, no point in discussing this if you don't want to see the difference between a 1.5 and 8 year timeframe. Time to move đ
Where were you when the original potaoe, perhaps kin of yours, held the border open empowering every illegal and causing riots when asked to vacate? You have no room to speak. Just stay over there wherever the hell you are and keep your one-sided opinions to yourself, non-democratic, un-American big mouthed know-it-all. You sound like every 14 year old. How's that?
@Cidknee you could have provided some arguments and simply proved me wrong.
Instead you personally attack me and bring up some completely irrelevant, unrelated stuff.
I put in the effort to explain my opinion in detail, provide actual numbers and their sources. You on the other side couldn't even be bothered to mentioned anything about the actual topic. All you do is come cry like a little baby because someone non-American dared to fact check the statement made. And you say I sound like the 14 year old here? Absolutely pathetic. If you can't handle a different opinion, just fuck off and put me on block. No one has time for this nonsense.
I'm ok to discuss and be proven wrong. I'm not interested in throwing dirt at each other. So unless you have to offer anything meaningful on the topic and the numbers I provided, I'm done with this.
Blah, blah, blah, blah, yeah! The only reason you respond is to insult somebody. I didn't get very far into your long-winded attack just now be ause I personally don't give a damn. I don't care to argue with anyone least of all you. I've more important things to do than argue with a professional 14 year old over things that doesn't even concern her. Keep your opinions to France. I see they have many problems that you can make fun of. Leave my country alone.
@Cidknee you're even too stupid to get my country right, no wonder you didn't manage to read and understand more than a paragraph. Now go cry somewhere else.
Since you have apparently so many important things to do and also don't give a damn, I'm sure you're gonna leave me alone and not write another wall of ignorant bullshit under my opinion. Right? đ
@Cidknee thank you for proving my point. I knew you couldn't keep your mouth shut đ pathetic. Everyone knew already from your posts that you're an imbecile, now you've also proven that you're a liar. But keep the hate posts coming, show everyone how much you apparently don't give a damn đ
@lilBigPotato , you started by challenging a source because you didnât like the name. Then you selected sources that are known to be democratsâ NGOs, democrat funded. So you too chose a party affiliation for your âfactsâ. You are no better than âDefeat Democratsâ or anyone who aligns with them. You too posted raw BS and claimed it to be factual.
Then you had the unmitigated gall to challenge someone else to post âunbiasedâ sourcesâŚas long as you approve of them, Iâm sure. In order to produce an artificial sense of fairness on your part. Meanwhile, your entire argument is leftist propaganda. How about YOU post sources that arenât driven entirely by democrats. Prove to everyone that you are wholly unbiased. Show us the quality of your fact checking prowess. Or go back to telling lefty lies and pretending that theyâre âfactsâ.
@lilBigPotato I think his point is that Democrats didn't care when it was happening under their watch, but now pretend to care when it's not. This is very typical in modern politics. It's less about the issues and more about power. It's especially bad now that divisions are so deep.
@Chazmatazz269 you clearly didn't read what I was saying.
I didn't say I'm politically unbiased or that any of the organisations I mentioned is. I also did not ask for unbiased, political neutral sources. Those things don't really exist.
I asked for trustworthy sources, independent of their political alignment. Sources that don't just make up numbers out of their ass purely to fuck over the other political party. Sources that explain where there numbers are coming from.
Human rights watch is such an organisation. A random, anonymous social media account who's name already shows that their goal is the destruction of a party isn't such one.
If you can't see the difference between the two then there's no point discussing đ¤ˇââď¸
@FrodoSkywalker007 I understand this and I agree that hypocrisy is a common thing in politics. My main issue here was that this statement was based on a random social media post making up numbers (or conventional omitting timeframes that would put these into context). I'm not here to defend democrats or anything else. Like I said, in the end I'm not from the US and don't care about your immigration rules. In fact, my political views on immigration are more on the right side of the political spectrum. But people attacking me here don't care. They don't understand that you can have mixed political views. They see that I don't like Trump, don't support the war, don't trust every source and boom I'm their enemy, anti American and anti democratic lol.
@lilBigPotato well, his attacks were uncalled for. I'm merely explaining the point of the post.
From what I've seen, you certainly do have anti Trump perspectives (which is fine), and at times they come off as anti American (maybe I'm wrong). But oh well đ it's fine.
However, politics is more divisive in the US than at any point in modern history. People literally get killed over it now. So, being attacked on here for it is expected.
@FrodoSkywalker007 I do have strong opinions and I'm vocal about them. But I'm also open for arguments should people provide them. I might be anti Trump, but I'm not anti American. People not differentiating is a common theme on this site. I have just as strong opinions on European politics, but this is a predominantly American site so no one is asking about them đ¤ˇââď¸ just answering questions posted on here. Can't blame me that there political scene is a battlefield and a massive cultural war is going on in the US.
Not blaming you, just explaining the hostility. I've been attacked too, even at times I've agreed with people.
Thatâs TDS for you. Clinton codified the law that Drumpf is using to expedite deportations for criminals. The democrats cheered with approval. Obama deported more illegals than any president in history, including Drumpf. The democrats cheered with approval. Obama bombed civilian women and children in Afghanistan. Democrats cheered with approval. But Drumpf blows up drug dealers and heâs evil incarnate. Biden took classified documents that he never should have had access to in the first place home and the democrats donât care. Drumpf took home classified documents that he DOES have access to and the democrats want him executed publicly.
Drumpf really hasnât done anything that popular democrats who came before him didnât do or at least support publicly. The lunatic left is only mad because itâs Drumpf. They literally canât justify any of their nonsense. All feelings and no facts.
And, yes, it definitely started with the media. The media actually loved Drumpf back in the day. He was a lifelong supporter of democrats. He was at Chelsea Clintonâs wedding! They only turned on him when he decided to run as a republican. Hereâs a video of him being welcomed and celebrated on âThe Viewâ.
Now âThe Viewâ is easily the most TDS drenched program on public airwaves.
The lamestream media mostly functions as a tool for leftist propaganda now. They only have use for âfactsâ that support their narrative.
None of it is acceptable no matter who's in charge. How many people were murdered in the street by ICE who were American citizens, or had permission to work here, and had no criminal record in all of the years combined prior to the tRump regime? let's try and compare apples to apples.
That woman that tried to hit the agent desired to get shot.
The man that got shot in Minnesota he didn't deserve to get shot and killed, that's why Kristy Noam was in part fired.
You should go back and review multiple angles of the murder of Rene Good. That's all I'll say about that.

Shootings are a lot more common than people realize, so that's definitely part of the equation. Beyond that though, the media was terrified to criticize Obama.
They scarcely reported on anything negative about Obama because ending up on the naughty list would, at minimum, deprive you of access. At worst, crossing Obama could (and did) lead to your correspondents being jeopardized
Well, I'm shouldn't be surprised. But I am because I never heard about anything concerning ICE until Trump was back in office. Im interested to see, now, what they all have to say about this. It's really disgusting. Using people to foam at the mouth with hate for ONE individual. LOL
This is the brightest light to be shown on those hypocrite mother f******s. Go hide your heads in sham -- Oh, yeah, right!
Democrats forget that it was Obama the built the cages for illegal alien children too.
If leftists didnât have double standards they wouldnât have standards at all.
The leftists donât care about anything, just hating Trump.
just because we decide "we don't remember" something... that doesn't mean things didn't happen
politics has no memory... very conveniently
ICE was lead by the same guy too, who Obama awarded for his effort to deport illegals lol.
Whataboutism at its worst !!! (I'm black but don't worship Obama, but to compare him to Trump is like comparing Lizzo to Daisy Fuentes !!!)
