Disagree. Sometimes too late is simply too late.

Women i talk to that want a deep relationship never seem to get this and they get mad. We'll go out, enjoy eachother's company, then she wants to take it to the next level and i decline. She asks "why not"? And i tell her, "if i had met you 30, 20, hell even maybe 10 years ago i'd be all in. But that chapter of my life is past." We can be friends. We can spend time together. But i'm afraid that's all i have to give now. Then they always get angry.🤷‍♂️

No. In some situations timing matters.

    • Let's say your job is to provide a distraction at a certain time. But you show up 15 minutes late. The mission is botched. The 8 people you were trying to extract are dead. 3 of your team members are dead. Your distraction is now irrelevant. Show up never, it doesn't matter.
    • Let's say Amazon comes to you with a deal. They are trying to penetrate the food home delivery market. They want your company to produce a paper liner for the bags the use for delivery. They offer you a no lose deal that you desperately need. A 3 year contract at great margins that will have the capital equipment you need to buy paid off in 12 months. But you're risk averse. You dither and worry. Amazon awards the deal to 2 of your competitors. You call to say yes 30 days too late. You end up losing your business. Fuck you.
    • You never tell someone how valuable they are, or how much you respect them, or give them a simple thank you. Then they die. Opportunity gone. For eternity.
    • You're in love with someone but you're too timid to say anything. Someone else swoops in and takes them. You get to think about that for the rest of your life.

Agree :) With some things though I'll be like naah forget about it. Like with some people it's not even about the thing that you were gonna do anymore (or whatever the issue is) it's about you, so see you. But in general yes it's better late than never.

Absolutely agree. If someone starts a business at 70 years old or gets married to the love of their life at that age, it's better than not done it at all. But the truth is, the earlier the better in life.

The earlier you start, the more time you can spend with the love of your life or the more time you have to make your business thrive. The early bird catches the worm

True... but not always is the love of your life found early even if you do actively search for it. Wouldn't you agree?

I'm pretty much the same age as you, so I definitely agree. But all I mean is, the sooner you find them, the better. When it comes to love though, there's a lot of luck involved. When it comes to business it's more about tenacity, determination, and a little intelligence

I guess that’s true on some circumstances but too bad things can’t be achieved earlier while you can enjoy it before you become out of your prime, like winning the championship and defending it.

Generally, yes, but not always. Sometimes late IS never. In the real world, there are hard deadlines for good reason. It is not okay to be late with a hard deadline.

It's not "better" but often it's acceptable since the presence is often essential.

    Early bird gets the worm.
Good things come to those who wait.
Time wasted is never regained, so it's better to be early than late.
The beauty of waiting lies in the lessons learned along the way.

That is sometimes true but overly late or unreasonably late and it's just better to not show up at all.
