Honestly isn't a late proposal better than none?

A late proposal is when a couple have been together for years and the man still won't propose. She breaks up and then weeks or months later, he apologizes and proposes.

Yet several women aren't too happy when that happens. Some have still declined him and expressed how they don't want it anymore.

I would've accepted it. I mean isn't that better than nothing? She got her proposal at the end. Isn't late and overdue better than never. At least he came back and ask. Yet why does that lowers his chance (from a 99% to a 50%) of it being accepted? Why won't many say yes. At least he proposed.

I personally don't think is better than nothing. in my opinion if you have to break up with someone for them to propose to you then is not a genuine proposal and you're eventually going to face consequences down the line. If he wanted to marry you and propose to you he would've, a woman should never have to manipulate or force a man into marriage like that.

In my opinion that is a shut-up ring, not a late proposal. A shut up ring comes after the ultimatum of “marriage or breakup”, or didn’t come because he was ready to get married. He dragged his feet for a reason and that reason would likely cause an issue further on down the road.
