If you look at any freedom indice the USA doesn't lead in any of them. It's just you lot keep shouting Freeeedom so much you've forgotten to check if you actually have it.
As opposed to then UK that had overn 12,000 arrests in a single year for media posts?
Probably all with good cause.

You must be joking. You won't be laughing when they come for YOU
With these media arrest stories there's always something else going on. The media bit is just a tiny part of the story but people like to pretend they've been arrested for a meme.
OH? Do tell...
So you're if I go to the UK for a holiday and I make a post on my private IG criticizing Muslims, I will be okay?
What about the man who was arressted for posting pictures of him experiencing American gun culture on his vacation.
Oh masz, prosze bardzo... "UK man faces DYSTOPIAN nightmare"

That's the problem! The entire "freedom scale" is another way for Europe to promote their model of government. They consider a a nanny state (free Healthcare, free college, heavy regulations on corporations...) as "freedom". They say the US is less free, because we have a high rate of incarceration lol and apparently, because we don't rely on the government to solve our problems. One model has been resilient, the other model is completely falling apart.
I remember that case but the details are a bit thin on the ground aren't they? Just him saying he was arrested. The police aren't going to arrest you for that, they might question you if you post a picture of yourself holding an illegal gun but once you tell them you were on holiday nothings going to happen. He must have done something else to raise suspicions. Problem is the police can't tell us so he's free to make up any bullshit story. Bet he's got links to the IRA.
You need to understand what an index is purportedly measuring and how it is measuring. Quite possible you (US) is rated low for stuff that is not really freedom of press.
In this case it appears to be measuring how prevalent counter culture views are expressed and it seems to be subjective views of their delegates in those 180 countries.
As a current example, Super Girl bombing at the box office could be taken as intolerance of it's underlying social views. Certainly those that have produced the bombs seem to think the movie going public - men in particular - have serious political deficiencies. It could just be Super Girl bombed because it wasn't entertaining and people don't pay for not being entertained.
I think you should automatically assume that this index is a proxy measure of how prevalent Left-wing thought is expressed
The mass media found it stylish and trendy to oppose the United States. It has become an ingrained habit. Conservatives are now exposing it. And this intimidates the mass media into believing they are not free. But they are. And with the advent of artificial intelligence and independent media online, the mass media are sinking to the bottom. And I can't wait.
Yes, because the pussy journalists feel "harassed" by people that don't agree with them. Tough shit! That's what freedom of expression means. The whole freedom index is a joke.
Obama got rid of the law that made propaganda illegal and all of the "news" organizations are owned by a foreign nation and religion. The main stream press is propaganda. The press is independent and so free it's illegal in California and Europe.
Seems bizarre to me when most press in the US openly attacks Trump. Seems free to me. Unless they mean bought out? We need to remember trust in media is at an all time low. It's even lower than congress, and that is saying something
Who told you it did?
Try living in the uk that has more arrests for social media posts than Russia
This is hilarious. The organization that did the "study" in questions, RSF, demonstrates in the first sentence of their article that they are biased, just as Trump says. Trump's "attacks" on the press are really just calling them out for their bias. So RSF obviously defines a lack of "press freedom" as getting criticized for pushing biased rhetoric. Hilarious, but sad.
I mean... he DID get Kimmel canned and is telling people to report national parks information that makes the US look bad
The answer is probably hidden behind that first link in your screenshot.
But if you have followed any recent news than this shouldn't be too surprising.
Trustworthiness in the press has been at its lowest point in history. Its actually lower than congress (which is at its lowest point). That's saying something. It's why many move to independent media, because msm has largely become nonsensical in its coverage.
because its the press that reports it. kind of bias.
These anti American orgs just make up stats.
