Trump is narcissist that didn't get enough hugs growing up. He's president because we have a sizeable segment of this country that is sick of the state of this country. Going to work everyday and falling further behind. Half believe Trump will right the ship. They are the true believers of MAGA. The other half are the Joker. They feel at this point he'll either right the ship which would be a miracle. Or he set the entire ship ablaze and bring the whole system crashing down. And at this point they're fine with EITHER. Because to them it's more about purging rage they have with within them. Those are the ones assaulted the capitol January 6th.
