Would you rather live in conservative Saudi Arabia or liberal Philippines?

Saudi is rich but nightlub bar is banned, music and movies are censored, pre marital sex and alcohol consumption is criminalized and you are not allowed to leave islam. But phillipines is poor but nightcluv bar available music ajd movies not censored and pre marital sex and alcohol can be consumed. which one you will choose?

You mean would I rather live in one of these as a foreigner or having been born into that country? Cause I don't know how not being able to leave Islam would affect me if I’m not Muslim to begin with. Either way, I think I would go with Saudi Arabia. The Philippines seems more beautiful but it’s not as liberal as you think anyway, you’re not even allowed to get a divorce there for example, even if your partner cheats or you have a bad relationship with them, while in Saudi Arabia it’s an option. Also Saudi Arabia is more organized, has low crime rates, and there are better opportunities for work compared to the Philippines. Philippines doesn’t have a really good economy and has other problems as well.

I don’t need alcohol or late night bars, and I’m already married so I don’t need premarital sex.

But tbh neither of these sound good for long term residence… just that when you compare them to each other I think, I think Saudi Arabia is a little better.

I don't know why everyone in this post thinks a country where you can’t even get a divorce, even from an abusive or toxic marriage is liberal and “democracy”. There’s a lot of corruption too. But neither of these two countries is ideal like I said.

i dont care about that that much really. filipinos are very nice and i know some personally. i like their culture. i love music and dancing and I'd feel more at home there than i would in saudi arabia.

Philippines is liberal? I live in the Philippines and I haven't noticed that. It's very conservative wherever I've been.

Give me "liberal Philippines" any day of the week. Saudi Arabia sounds like a nightmare. I love going to a bar on the weekend with friends to catch some live music and have a couple beers. I also enjoy sex so the choice is quite easy between those two countries. Filipinos might be poor but they're the nicest and happies people. Much nicer and happier than Saudis.
