US oil companies refused to drill in Venezuela because the price per barrel made it unaffordable to drill. That's not a problem now. The US is said to have collected $13B from the sale of Venezuela's oil although Trump claims that number is much higher and he has also bragged that Venezuela has paid for the US's military invasion many, many times over. Which translates into the US pillaging an impoverished country for it's oil

That doesn't surprise me at all. Trumps claims of talks and peace often coincide with the market. Some people are not watching that closely enough. The US is certainly getting rich off the war.
