I am an independent I can only speak for me. I used to vote candidates and issues. But an erratic and obviously amoral narcissist with a skin so thin it's like tissue paper. Is given free reign by a bunch do nothing lapdogs currently in Washington. I will vote for anyone who is against the current administration and\or congressional encumbants no matter the party. And I will be voting in person. So if there are more people who stand up to the toddler in chief I could vote all over the place and I hope there are more like me.

@strateguy632 I have no idea what that means? If a single congressional candidate says they are going to make the supreme court submit to Congress. My first thought is sounds like fear mongering BS about a candidate mostly likely a pac trying to protect their power and influence. But let's say it's an issue, how can that happen from one congressional seat.

A lot can happen in 3 months. I think the House will flip and it might flip big but the Senate is a different story. The Democrats are blowing a golden opportunity by running far left candidates. If they would run moderate candidates then they could flip both quite easily. Midterms usually favor the party that isn't in the White House and if the Democrats platform is the economy with only 34k jobs created in the last 12 months, high inflation, 100k manufacturing jobs lost in the last 18 months, running commercials with Trump saying "No new wars" or MAGA proclamation of 90 trade deals in 90 days then they have a really good shot. But the Democrats seem just as disorganized and have as much infighting as the Republicans.

i think there will be a blue wave for the midterms. i have seen countless people regretting their votes for Trump and republican candidates. I don't know how "big" the wave will be, but i think mostly democrats will win and they may take the house at least

There could have been a blue wave BUT…. Now that the DSA has highjacked the Democrat party it’ll never happen. I mean as long as the elections are fair and honest. The DSA are communists not socialists. Yes a communist like mamdani can win in a blue city like NYC (and by the way he won with 60% of his vote from foreigners). No DSA will win a national election, even doubtful they could win a state election (maybe California or NY). That won’t equal a blue wave.

I think it is coming, but I also thought Kamal Harris would win in 2014 and Hillary Clinton woukd win in 2016, so I wouldn't be terribly surprised if it doesn't come. Texas's gerrymandering will probably backfire since they didn't account for the fact that the Latino community has soured on Trump and will probably vote against any candidate he backs.

I don't know what to think anymore. The republicans seem to be trying to lose congress, and in non idiotic times the DSA bullshit would be laughed off stage. But we live in a time of feels not reals where voters have become emotional toddlers.

I don't think they will take the Senate. The Dems are a disorganised rabble, so far as I can tell from here. Most people think the House is highly likely though.

Maybe in areas with a high muslim population, but apparently only a third if democrats support the DSA and that is what a lot of the democrat candidates support based on their policies. So we'll see.

Also areas with a high Latino population. Legal Latino's in thr U. S. voted overwhelmingly for Trump in 2024, now his approval among Latino voters in in the teens. Anyone against him will get most Latino votes in their area.

@Twalli there are tons of things Trump has and has not done in his second term that I didn't like. You're gonna need to be more specific. His plan to deport illegals was made insanely clear. If his immigration policy was what turned them away then they were never fans in the first place.

He has deported people here legally and has been going after people whose only crime is not being here legally. He said he was going after the really bad people, but more good people than bad people have been deported. ICE has detained people trying to remain here legally until they're here illegally to justify deporting them.

@Twalli Yeah, if an immigrant commits a crime like murder or rape, they should be deported, legal or otherwise. And yes, being here illegally is a deport-worthy offense.

He gave them a chance to self deport so all of the good people have already left.

The only time I have heard of this happening was someone who got released four days later after finding out it was a mistake.
