Economic indicators presently do not suggest that we have a booming economy, but maybe you have a different view of it. Trump certainly does. The U. S. lost 23,000 jobs in July, a quarter of a million people stopped looking for work, and the unemployment rate is still 4.1% . I don't call this "booming, as Trump does, but what do you think?

Every jobs report in the last year and a half has been revised downward the following month. The May and June numbers were revised down a combined 103k and the total number of jobs created in the past 12 months sits at only 34k. Most analysts expect negative job growth after next months revisions. The unemployment rate is somewhat deceiving because there are 1 million less people in the US work force now compared to 1 year ago and 100k manufacturing jobs have been lost in that time.
The stock market is sky high but institutional investors have sold off over 25% of their holdings in 2026 after selling off last year too indicating a big correction is around the corner. Big investors don't make money sitting on cash, they only sit on cash when it's time to get out. Sell high and buy low and when Warren Buffet and Jamie Dimon say stocks are overpriced, it means you should sell not buy stocks.
The media plays up the jobs numbers for July but fail to mention the positive news we have had for the last 6 months. There are other indicators that show a strong economy like business investment, corporate earnings, consumer spending and GDP. They have been excellent under a new administration. he stock market is also at record levels.
A lot of this is attributed to President Trump's tax policies.
