In their world, they do. I've even heard some of them say the gas prices were cheaper under him, and that may have been cheaper, but the president doesn't control the gas prices. He works under the executive branch, where he enforces the laws, so yeah, not the brightest people.

By the way he talks, a lot of his supporters thinks he's a lawmaker, but working under the executive branch, the president has no power in lawmaking. He can only make suggestions and most of them get tossed out or if does manage to get a bill on the table, it usually gets vetoed.

You can tell the supporters don't know much about how politics work just by some of the things that come out of their mouths, lol

Presidents do control gas prices. Indirectly. I work in oil and gas. Biden getting elected and shutting down the XL pipeline and cancelling all the leases cost my company billions and shut down projects that have been in the works for years. There’s a reason energy prices have doubled under Biden.

Distribution and sales are two different markets. Oil is both drilled in the states and imported. The import tax on oil is higher. If the U. S used 100% their own resources, the gas prices would be lower, almost half what it is now, maybe more.

Russia was the top distributor a couple of years ago. The war caused a lot of issues with the gas prices. That's why it's been fluctuating the last year or so.

The housing bubble was created by Frank/Dodd, both democrats. Bush actually warned their commitee that it would lead to a bank collapse but Bush was powerless to stop it.
