I don't know about worse but we have cures for some cancers at this point.

• ALS and Parkinson's is a death sentence where your mind is trapped inside a slowly degenerating body and there is no cure.
• Alzheimer's and dementia is a degenerating consciousness inside an otherwise healthy body. Are you still you at some point? No cure for either at this point.

Yes. I think ALS is worse. Your body just gives up and you are trapped in a motionless body for years while your mind stays sharp.
