People don't move states let alone countries in the United States. It's always been a common trend. Even Dwight D. Eisenhower started a program for student ambassadors (people to people) to see the world so the population wouldn't be so isolationist after the world wars.

It is terrifying to leave what you know. So in the same logic admire people who took the plunge bet it all on the American dream and immigrated here.
