Women hold a high position in society because they carry the bulk of the reproductive hardware. Unless some mechanical means of reproduction came along. Then Women couldn't compete with machines capable of producing thousands of engineered offspring. Their position as reproducers would be obsolete. They would not have the mechanical aptitude or strength of men. They would no longer be as useful. Imagine girly girls driving fork lifts it would be hard on them and they'd be in competition with men. Of course more likely machines eould simply replace everyone.

We require men to produce value. If he doesn't, he is a failure, and we let him die.
We don't really do that for women. If a woman doesn't produce value she is just "going through a hard time" and someone else takes care of her.
