Well I'm not a hermit exactly. But, I control who and how much I interact. Quality over quantity. A lot of people just don't hold my interest. Immature, insecure, ignorant, lacking in curiosity, low self awareness. I just don't have the patience or tolerance for endless inane conversation with idiots. I manage conversations to a polite end rapidly as part of everyday life. And I don't need to be surrounded by other people constantly. I like my alone time with my thoughts and reading for fun or learning.

On the other hand I can turn on the charm when I want or get myself out of a conversation without being a jerk. But what I really enjoy is conversation with another person or a small group where we are all at a similar level and everyone can express their ideas and opinions because the group is small. That's where those people push me and I push them to think.

Some I do and some I don't. The ones that I don't like are usually people on the road.

Then there's the rude adult in public. Please don't yell at kids behind the counter of a retailer or like a coffee shop in front of me. I'll embarrass you and shut you down. I hate bullies. I won't make a scene otherwise I'd be just as bad. I've had to calmly walk people out of the door like I worked at the a few places this has happened. I have a technique for that I developed when I was a kid working in retail hahah

I am deeply introverted. So i like people fine in small doses; some more than others. I can be around close family or friends for a while. The stranger a person is to me, the less i can sustain my social battery. Large groups of strangers drain me fairly quickly.

I do like the sense of community down here... friends and family as well

but also, I would not mind it at all... if I were to live at a lot less crowded place, I would be fine with that too
