We are a civilised race. If we look into the small print can we truly say that is an accurate statement?

We call ourselves "civilized" so we can feel good about ourselves or live with ourselves. But the truth is that we seldom live up to the meaning of that word or the definition of a civilized society.

"A civilized society is an organized human community characterized by advanced social development, rule of law, respect for human rights, and the provision of basic needs and safety for its members. It relies on cooperation, mutual respect, and shared ethical values rather than brute force."

I know I've violated the crap out of that definition hundreds of times over my life. Look around you. All this stuff exists in abundance either because of individuals or government sanctioned wholesale uncivilized behavior.

• Hate
• Lies
• Sexual abuse
• Intimidation
• Censorship
• Economic disparity
• Educational disparity
• Healthcare disparity
• Double standards

We eat living things to sustain ourselves.
We are motivated by survival and reproduction.
We willingly and happily share bodily fluids when we can…

As a race yes human race is civilized compared to other races. Different countries are less civilized. And brutal.
