Turkey has been a "crossroad of civilizations" for millennia. I'd imagine all sorts of bloodlines have been mixed into the people who currently live in modern Turkey. A simple DNA study would show the demographics of the population. Someone must have studied it.

Yeah Turkey has been a highway to the holy land for Europeans. A trade route for Persians, Egyptians, Arabs, and Europeans. A focus in regional wars etc., forever. Turkish nationality and ethnicity are probably not the same thing for most Turkish citizens.

no they don't even speak arabic. the culture differs. the language differs. persian is not arab but closer to arab than turk due to using same shapes in writing.
