Luxury to me means having a roof over our heads, food on the table, bringing our two children up in a safe and secure environment, and being financially stable enough not to be in any debt (other than the mortgage)... Which through sheer hard work and determination we are now able to enjoy the fruits of our labours.
How about your good self @thegreenyogi
I consider luxury to be able to say " I am happy" and to have my health because without it I wouldn't be able to live. Xx And of course the things you mention are certainly luxuries too.
luxury is renting a furnished apartment with refrigerator and air conditioning to cool, and wash and dry machines for clothes in building. i could manage without but life is luxurious. i can afford to buy fast food and prepared food to save time -while others spend 2 hours cooking and washing pots each dwy dwy after day. so i reached luxury.
Even though my father taught me how to effectively "work smart" rather than work hard, I still worked harder than planned to secure a present and a future in which I need not worry about affording luxuries such as a lavish lifestyle, acquisitions of unnecessary items and the luxury of still being debt-free.
The luxury I find myself lacking of every now and then is time.
Well I have Free time and a secure living situation that would be two I'd deem such though a missing one is not worrying about how much money I have. Luxury would need that third thing, buying things without looking at your bank account and when the next time you are getting money.
Luxury to me is to own 2-5 Acre of land with my own Water and Food (Grains & meat) and Large Family home with a Wife and few Kids!.. all of this Financially sustainable and I don't have to work and I can spend all my time with my family..
Of course house chores and farm chores don't count as work!
That's defination of Luxury for me
I don’t really give a rat’s ass about luxury beyond a loud hifi stereo, a classic car or truck, be able to afford gas for that gas guzzler, to be able to buy whatever food I want at the grocery store, be able to live out in the country with a piece of land big enough to grow a bunch of hot pepper plants, and be able to afford to drive around the country for a couple weeks when I want.
Ahhh, the stuff dreams are made of! My kind of life, too.
@Cidknee and maybe a motorhome
Eyes on the 5th wheel myself. I like that split level as opposed to a trailer and it pulls so much easier. The coaches drink so much gas I believe.
@Cidknee yeah I think you’re right, motorhomes are too high maintenance and guzzle gas. Towing a 5th wheel trailer with a diesel pickup is the way to go
Yes, plus those coaches start out well over a 100k. I've seen them at a million plus.
If all goes well perhaps I will be equipped by this time next year.
Having a job which pays well enough to live comfortably and pays for my family needs ofcourse for that I need a family to begin with.
Having a wife or girlfriend. Who is waiting for me at the door everyday to hug me. (Some reel I saw), then getting a beautiful daughter , and a son.
If she wants kids, if not I don't mind much.
That's the luxurious life I imagine. Sadly it's a fantasy 😂😂.
I have plenty of ideas…
But real luxury is in the people you share it with ;)
😉 Agreed 100%
Luxury? The freedom to control my time, who I spend it with, and how much I devote to any given person or project. And yeah, I've pretty much achieved that to the extent it is possible in the real world.
Luxury is frequently mistaken for abundance or the accumulation of possessions with a status symbol to them.
In reality, luxury is achieved through effortless comfort beyond our own basic needs.
And luxury also involves the personal freedom to do things, or to not do them - without any negative returns or disadvantages.
Personally, I don't seek ''luxuries'' - and therefore have achieved my ideals. I have come to enjoy a few, but would not mind if they disappear.
That word is foreign to me.
I'm almost a millionaire and the idea of luxury offends me. Why? It doesn't make you a better person. It enriches someone that really doesn't need it and you're typically overpaying for something. And how can you in good conscience enjoy it knowing there are so many people doing without life's basics?
Not having to worry about money, being able to go where you want when you want, eat what you want when you want, and having healthy happy family and friends who support you wholeheartedly
Having enough money in bank account.
Childhood friends. Loyalty. Is the luxury by god grace i achieved.
What about you maam?
Freedom and independence
Having most things you want, and even some things that you don't even need, but still like those things.
Luxury is a 5 star vacation, a Lamborghini, a 20 year old beautiful wife, a villa on the French Rivera with a yacht moored out back. I'll never reach it but to have no worries of bills or rising food costs again will be enough.
Traveling business class. Not willing to pay for that, it's like $6000 round trip to Europe.
Having a vehicle that will start when it gets cold out.
A roof over my head, good health and food on my plate.
Maybe having somebody else empty the garbage.
You're a simple man doc. That is luxury.
@Cidknee I do it because I have to, but it's never pleasant.
lol..
health is a luxury... unfortunately
A theme park with blackjack and hookers!
Ya know.. forget the black jack
Lol, work in progress. Still a student.
A yacht that is a small cruise ship
It's a non stop process
