Because most people are stoopid. Most people only know what they are told and the same six corporations control the vast majority of everything we see, hear, watch and read. Naturally they are among the same corporations paying off our “elected” officials for favorable legislation and financially supporting the candidates who will do the most for them.
Did you learn about Tweedism in skool? I sure didn’t. I learned about it about a decade ago, but dude’s political philosophy was rendered almost two centuries ago.
I spend an inordinate amount of time showing people on both sides how wildly ignorant and/or hypocritical their political views are. I’ve helped to change ONE mind that i know of. Everyone else is completely committed to their “us vs them” mentality, and we are doomed because of it.
