Is that true? I’m not sure which part of the north you mean. If you mean the Upper Midwest, they have VERY distinctive accents….

Everyone of course knows the famous New York City accent, that’s up north, but northeast.
And I’m from Boston; I’ll be the first to tell you I have a pretty thick accent myself. Not quite as thick as these guys, and we have different sub-accents that only natives can discern, but for outsiders, this works as an example…

They loved me in Tennessee last weekend, especially when I went to this “bah-bah-cue” joint, lmfao. Everytime I said the word, the cashier was dying laughing🤣
Everyone has an accent. In the US the mid-atlantic accent you hear from professional speakers is considered the neutral accent, and we speak of differences from that as having an accent. Viewed in that way, there are at least a dozen distinguishable accents in the US.
Everyone thinks they don't have an accent... until they move somewhere else and realize they do.
Because they have good accents and Southerners have stupid accents. Science has proven it.
and judging you while drinking their cawfee too...
To us, we dont. It's not an accent to us, it's how we talk.
They certainly do. Try Boston or NYC or the north part of MN or Wisc..
I can't stand the Boston accent and some other accents 😃😄 yet some accents sound like Heaven 😇
Don't know, but I don't have a "blaccent!!!"
They should. They definitely do.
I’m from the south and they tell me I have an accent.
