Yes. I’d say it’s the former that’s typically true, at least in terms of the more broadly societally-impactful White-on-POC racism.

I guess I’d maybe just add that, if you vote Republican, that tells me that racism isn’t as much of major issue to you as it should be. The tacit acceptance of it almost worse to me, in that a racist is just a vile person with a broken psyche but I at least know who they are and where they stand; whereas, in a way, it’s even more offensive to me that you DON’T care, and that you’re willing to accept it IF you think you’ll stand to personally benefit from it.

I’d say one of the top things I don’t respect in a voter are people who think the voting process should just be a bunch of people voting based on “what’s best for ME and MY family”, with the majority getting their way and everyone else suffering. You should be voting based on what would be best for EVERYONE, collectively.

If you've ever solved published logic problems... or what we used to refer to as "word problems" in math, you've run across this exact thing lots of times. Set A includes the entirety of set B, but includes other sets as well. Set B is a subset of set A with the given info.
The grey elephant example given by another here is a simple way to put it.
