If you could wake up tomorrow fluent in any language, which would you choose?

If i want to be fluent in a language I usually just learn it. I am pretty good at pattern recognition and learning languages in a reasonable amount of time.

I dont struggle with it like most adults. I used to think it wasn't that hard, but everyone tells me kids learn it faster and they struggle for years learning something I pick in a couple of days.

I used to think they were just being a cry baby, but I guess I am just smarter than most of them.

I work in Cybersecurity, but I still pick up on languages pretty quickly compared to most people even though it is not my field.

People say I am just lucky or whatever, but I don't believe they can't learn it as an adult. Maybe when they are monolingo and learning their second one it might take longer. But I think after you get a second one down you kind of understand the process to learning it and know how to avoid wasting time.

I'm already fluent in English, at least reading and writing. Probably in the 99th percentile in both. I'm not quite as fluent speaking English, simply because I'm not 100% sure how to pronounce some words even if I can understand them in the context of what I read and use them effectively in what I write. I would love equal fluency in Spanish as that is the second most widely spoken language here and I don't see myself leaving the country. If I were to leave, it would be to Canada in which case I'd want to be fluent in Canadian French (which is different than European French).

Japanese. I've been trying to master it since 2023 or 2022. I'm taking lessons, but I need a lot of help, I'm better at vocabulary and comprehension rather than listening to it. The grammar is tough. I think most of my need for help is a teacher who does not really teach--he ha me learn on my own, and then he tests me and goes over it. Not the best method for me.

German or Japanese. Since neither one is too close to the languages I already speak. I would have an easier time learning Spanish or Italian for instance so why waste a free language on them
