So i was wondering, now that trump OFFICIALY renamed the lake see

How should this affect data online?

I imagined several possibilities. The most rational would be to have two data pages with names on each. i mean keep the familiar page "lake ontario" just add "AKA Lake of America" and proceed- after that small addition since it is an official name.

PLUS a new page with the new name "lake america aka lake ontario". Would that be accurate and fair?

I was curious so FIRST I ASSUMED they opposed trump and would not have a lake america page.

So i searched for lake ontario and sure enough the wokepedia SUPPRESSED the edit war -despite an offial name by an elected president. This is crazy. A clinical illness type response! By admins of wiki.

No additional "aka lake america" yet. It has a bit of mention later but refused to add the name!

Another good option is like: "Afghanistan, officially the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, is a landlocked country" same "Lake Ontario, officially Lake of America is a lake".
I remember afghanistan and iran were inconsistent , so they changed the afghanistan stuff, for the "new rules" to oppose trump.

exactly because it was a major and repeated news item.
wikipedia excuse: to use 'common name' crumbles due to being a major news item, so common that trump changed them.
also they do use official name for afghanistan for each of the past governments and also added in title line now, so it exposed the lie to avoid recognizing trump by saying 'we don't mention in title sentence' because we don't mention official but do. see my update here.
