The Oxford Comma being optional. It’s gotta be mandatory.

”The dinner menu includes baked haddock, prime rib, and spaghetti and meatballs.” This reads unmistakably with an Oxford Comma.

Versus…

”The dinner menu includes baked haddock, prime rib and spaghetti and meatballs.” Without the Oxford Comma, can we INFER that the spaghetti is paired with the meatballs and not the prime rib? Sure. But you can’t tell me that reads cleanly in print.

I just don’t see the argument for NOT having it would be. It’s not difficult to add, in writing or typed🤷‍♂️

And while I’m at it, what the hell is with “aN (h)’istoric”, with the “an” and the silent H? I wasn’t aN ‘istory major in college. That sounds awkward as hell, and it doesn’t do me any favors with speech either. I know English is full of weird little nonsensical rules, but that one sounds stupid as hell; yet I feel like it’s most employed when someone is trying to sound smart😝

As a non-native speaker, I tediously tried to say "an Hour" for some time, and believe me all these non-silent H aren't easy to work with when Antarctican is your mother tongue. Then someone native told me that I don't have to do that... That "an Hour" is said like "an Our", was it wrong?

What Jesus taught was Biblical Christianity, what Catholics call Protestantism. After several hundred years as error and paganism crept in, that became Catholicism.
