How do you personally define discipline in your own words?

What does it means to you in your own words?

I actually applied that word in general. For me it means organization and following rules. For example someone coming to school or work on time and performing their daily routines in an orderly manner is indeed a disciplined individual. You are also able to have self-control and focused on reaching your goals.

I do not relate discipline to getting rewards or punishment. That's totally different. That's my definition. What is yours when you hear that word?

A disciplined person is someone who is able to maintain self-control, who has a routine, discipline is a prerogative for soldiers because they need to understand how the chain of command works, how to follow orders and how to follow the rules. Even if it is a prerogative for them I think that it is useful for everyone.
