When will those dumb conspiracy theorists take their tin foil hats off and stop spreading the false claim that the 9/11 was an inside job?

In the county in which I live there is a person whom I will call Mr. Jones. He is a member of "Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth" an organization of 9/11 conspiracy theorists.

I moved to where I live in 2011. Mr. Jones, who is/was a professional engineer, always would write a "9/11 Inside Job" letter to the editor in our county newspaper.

In 2017 or 2018, I wrote letters in response to his. I am a native New Yorker who has known people who died in 9/11 and I've have many special memories at the WTC, so 9/11 to me is a bit personal but not nearly as personal as my friend who lost her cop husband that day. (My friend was on The Today Show on the 10th anniversary of 9/11; we moved here a week earlier.)

Anyway, on this day (12 SEP) in 2019, I snapped and wrote this in which I've had to redact some things.

To The Editor:

Since I moved to [my town] eight years ago, I’ve diligently read [this newspaper] and have come to recognize a stable of odious cranks that, for some reason that I wish [this newspaper] would explain, doesn’t feel any need to use editorial judgment. And 9/11 always brings out Mr. [Jones]’s yearly “9/11 was an inside job” letter to the editor (“Time to Learn Truth About 9/11,” 9/7/2019) whose pursuit of 9/11 “truth” is worse than Captain Ahab hunting Moby Dick.

Someone needs to step up and address these 9/11 cranks.

Whenever someone is about to let their conspiracy theories take off, ask yourself these things:

1. What’s in it for the people who are doing the conspiring? And not just anything immediate, but in the long run... What value do people get by taking the effort to be in the conspiracy? Ideology is almost never enough for most actions like engaging in a conspiracy.

2. All that’s needed for a conspiracy to fall apart is for one person to decide to no longer be a part of it and reveal the conspiracy. This means that, the more people involved, the more likely the conspiracy will fall apart. So, ask yourself “How likely is this conspiracy to fall apart? How many people are involved?”

3. The larger and more complex the conspiracy, the easier it is to detect by potential victims. This is because conspiracies require coordinated actions among the conspirators — the kinds of actions which appear suspicious because they would not occur if there was the simple randomness of people. For instance, this is how forensic accountants discover financial crimes.

I want to share the words from Facebook of a friend I’ve known for over 40 years — a 9/11 widow whose police officer husband died in the WTC.

“After 9/11 we had no choice but to go on and move on with our lives. And yet, every year we get pulled right back into the pain, the loss, the memories of a day that irrevocably changed our entire lives. For those of us directly affected, there is no consistency to the moving on because this time each year we must stand with a foot in each world... the one we lost and the one we rebuilt; 18 years later and it still hurts... still unbalances me and the children.”

Mr. [Jones]: Stop. Stop hurting others — and yourself. Seek help.

Jones replied with another letter, but then I followed up with this:

The Editor:

I am responding to Mr. [Jones]’s “Struggle for Truth Should Be Unending” of Sept. 14-15, 2019.

I will make this terse:

1. No, I do not believe that you (Mr. [Jones]) are part of the 9/11 conspiracy because no such conspiracy exists.

2. Do I think we should continue to search for the truth? Always. Except that the truth here has already been found. The “quest for 9/11 truth” will never end because finding that “truth” is as elusive as finding a corner in a circle.

3. As a trained physicist and practicing engineer myself who uses Occam’s Razor, the failure reasons of the buildings are well-understood and do not violate physical law. That includes Building 7.

4. Your intellect and time are better spent helping humanity find the truth to the real problems facing us.

Last time, I quoted my 9/11 widow friend. She had another Facebook post from this past 9/11 that I would like to share but must edit for space reasons:

“Every year I think it will be easier... every year it’s not.

“I sat at the cemetery yesterday for a very long time talking to my [husband]. I talked about [our children] and everything that has happened with them over the last year. I talked to him about how very proud he would be of them.

“I wonder if it will ever stop being so painful and yet I haven’t quite accepted that this will be with me for the rest of my life. That on one hand I am brought back, EVERY... SINGLE... YEAR, to witness his death everywhere I turn — TV, radio, newspapers, memorial services. To allow all the pain and loss to wash over me like a tidal wave that infuses every cell of my body. It is exhausting!

“Yet I never want to show disrespect to all the people who work to keep the memory alive of all those lost.

“I suppose all I can do is ride the wave until it passes for another year, and focus on the greatest gift my husband left me with, our kids.”

I share her words because I want to share the pain she and other direct victims feel. She said to me six years ago, “I just want to move on.”

The “Quest for 9/11 Truth” doesn’t help that. Worse, it is a folly with the worst part being that its seekers are just more 9/11 victims.

After those 2019 letters, I do not believe that he has ever written another 9/11 Inside Job letter to the editor of our newspaper... or, maybe, the publishers finally put a stop to publishing them.

Many things are verifiable. Just spend 15 minutes checking. Look at the insurance renewal prior to 911. He renewed his insurance so that each building would get a separate payout so he got paid triple for his claim. Instead of dealing with the expenses of dealing with asbestos he got a 4.55 billion payout. Google these words -twin towers and building 7 insurance claims.

Larry Silverstein and Silverstein Properties received a total insurance payout of approximately $4.55 billion for the destruction of the Twin Towers, 7 World Trade Center, and other parts of the complex.

Twin Towers Insurance DisputeThe Lease: Larry Silverstein signed a 99-year lease for the World Trade Center complex in July 2001, just six weeks before the September 11 attacks.

The Core Argument: Silverstein’s legal team argued that because two separate hijacked planes hit the Twin Towers, the event counted as two separate "occurrences" under the insurance policy. This doubled the potential payout limit to roughly $7 billion instead of the $3.5 billion single-occurrence cap.

On September 10th 2001 the Pentagon announces they more or less misplaced 2.3 trillion dollars due to accounting errors.

They found one of the hijackers passport that supposedly survived the crash and building collapse.

United Airlines: On September 6, 2001, trading in put options (bets that a stock price will fall) for United Airlines spiked to nearly 100 times higher than normal levels

American Airlines: On September 10, 2001, American Airlines saw a massive jump in put options, reaching about 285 times its normal daily volume.

That is about 10% of the evidence available. All of what I said is verifiable.

i dont know about steel but fires are usually NOT hot enough to melt steel. steel processing used SPECIAL alloys for buckets! and special heaters. steel support-columns would just expand. yet towers fell. they have mysteries to explain.

of course that is not any reason to accuse anyone specific. especially not to accuse bush of killing. making big blame would need proof.

it would be nonsense to accuse of "something that goes against interests" like killing the best tax payers, in trade center towers who he needs alive! but bush -r was a republican so... you know...

I'm not a physicist but I have no doubt that the twin towers and building 7 were brought down by pre-set explosives. From what I remember, the center of each tower had a backbone of reinforced concrete elevator shafts. Even if the fire weakened the steel and one floor dropped onto another and started a chain reaction, the concrete shafts would still be there. No plane hit bldg. 7 yet it dropped like an elevator. It was imploded just like the towers.

Who invented the term "conspiracy theory" in the first place and why?

All one has to do is a little research to see the huge coverup and to see who benefited. But, hey, some people are far more comfortable being blissfully ignorant.

The thing about it is that there is this 9/11 persistent belief that 9/11 was promoted in some ways by the U. S. government. I would not be surprised if that were the case.
