I think it's time to stop this gold worship because some people are destroying themselves and the environment to mine it while 90% of it just sits in some basement or on some fat wrists doing absolutely nothing useful. Utterly meaningless. Other countries’s assets have absolutely no bearing on US currency, revenues or debts. We lose nothing. We gain nothing.
If they were actually keeping gold here at all, it’s because the US market was paying better than others for that period of time.
They will bring it back just as quickly when the tide turns. You might as well be asking what will happen to the market when primary stocks drop.
Everything is facetious until it’s not.
