Is it me, or does truth no longer matter anymore? It seems facts are offensive to sensibilities and people prefer to live in their fantasy worlds 🤷‍♂️

People create this worldview and completely discount anything that contradicts it. Things are more controlled by the fade of the day that can create the most personal prestige. Often times these views are held in dissonance with truth, and force the holder to completely ignore reality when given to them.

Some examples include the numerous leftist social movements that have popped up, such as Queers for Palestine.
We also see this issue with the current perspectives on sexuality and gender or biological realities in general. Its difficult to imagine professionals in the medical field refuse to define a woman in front of congress.
We also see this with racial issues that deny crime statistics or practice clear double standards, such as two teir policing.

Why would we need truth anyway

Faith doesn't need truth, for instance, because truth isn't relevant in that context.

A site designed to share opinions doesn't need truth either, because it's not relevant in that context.

A nation doesn't need truth either as it needs to convince its members to agree upon and respect so many questionable concepts like the value of currency, the border separating one nation from another, or the value of one human life. These are all abstract inventions, illusions created by our ancestors. In the context of the universe, currency has no intrinsic value, your life or mine, your opinion or your quest for truth has no intrinsic value either, isn't it true?

Take the Queers for Palestine movement.
They openly support an organization that calls for the genocide of a people, while claiming the other side commits genocide. Ironically, while supporting a group of people that would gladly destroy them for their own sexual preferences.

It's more or less like chickens supporting KFC 🤷‍♂️

I'd agree. I've seen many street interviews during protests and many of them are incapable of answering basic questions.
In some cases I'd say they are paid
Most of the time I feel it's mostly a "prestige" thing.

I think truth becomes relevant to perspective and that is reinforced by emotional attachment. To find truth opposed to ones emotional attachment requires a lot of effort to overcome the friction in the mind/heart.

Hard headed are many.

In trouble we may be, as the truth becomes a victim and we'll no longer know true due to controls, limitations, manipulations.
