Not in terms of race just more so the type of people you find attractive compared to what's on the magazines, billboards, movies, tv shows, etc.

I don't have strict preferences, I see beauty more of a whole package... a whole lot of people feel the same way too

so... I guess my opinions do align very well with most people... however what people like and what the INDUSTRIES not the "society" do, is to push consumerism into people to make it seem like "THIS IS IN NOW, and this is not"

I think that "golden mean" thing applies to all faces, ethnicities, along with a general "mean' for body beauty. When people's eyes are large, line up with the edges of their lips, the spacing between lips and chin, chin prominence, high cheekbones, face shape. nose length/size, jaw definition... all add up to handsome and beautiful faces for both men and women.

There are those who don't fit the mold, but other qualities, such as singing voice, speaking voice, acting talent, dance skill, painting skill, athletic skill, writing skill, or other artistic talents, outweigh their lack of fitting into the "golden mean" facial or physical modes that puts them into a separate category of beauty/talent above the average.

I think mine probably overlap with society’s in some ways, but definitely not completely. I can find someone attractive who wouldn't necessarily fit the typical magazine or Hollywood idea of beauty.

For me, personality and the way someone carries themselves can change how attractive I find them too. Someone can be objectively good looking, but if their personality is cold or unpleasant, I might not find them attractive at all. And sometimes someone who isn't considered conventionally attractive can become extremely attractive once you get to know them.

So I guess society can influence what we notice, but I don't think it completely decides who we're attracted to.

The term you’re looking for is ‘per se’, not “per say”.
It’s Latin for “by itself”, but is functionally acceptable as “in itself” or “to itself” as well.

I think what I find beautiful is mostly the same as other people, but there are a couple attractive features that I find overrated and some 'unattractive' features that I like (for ex on white women, I think pale skin is pretty (which is in the west not the beauty standard) and that dark tan than isn't as attractive as society makes it out to be (on white w)).

Some of what I find attractive definitely lines up with what society considers attractive, but I also notice little things that wouldn’t necessarily make someone ‘conventionally’ beautiful. Sometimes it’s something different about their eyes.. their smile.. their energy, or just the way they carry themselves that makes them way more attractive to me.
