Based on the adage that the best things in life are free, why is love not included (for most men at least)?

I talked to a young man who thought like you. I handed him a magazine and asked him to point out a woman that he thought was worthy of dating. He of course chose a supermodel.
He was handicapped and said he wouldn't settle for less than the supermodel in the picture. I just told him he was beyond help and wished him good luck.

But wait, even when the girls are not supermodels or even good looking they often expect the guy to pay for everything. Of course if a man is not so good looking he need to find a girl which is also not so good looking. But even then as I said it is the same old story.

When a woman wants you to pay for everything, she's doing you a favor by letting it be known early on. Just dump the bitch.

I'm a big believer that there's someone out there for everyone, so you just need to keep looking.

I'm not sure what good things in life are free. Oxygen I guess. Certainly not love, except maybe a mother's love. But even plenty of people miss out on that.

No no , of course I was not talking about oxygen even though it is vital. I was talking about things that give you pleasure or make you happy or make you feel love. So you say that love is not free right? So do you have to pay your boyfriend or husband (whichever it is) so he shows you love? And he has to pay you for you to show him love? In which case you might as well not pay nothing at all because the net effect would be zero! Or you think HE should pay YOU for your love?
