Why do the kiddie winkies think you're criticizing them when you're actually trying to be helpful and give advice?

Some girl posted a video of herself playing the bass line for "The Mayor Of Simpleton" by XTC, not an easy bass line to learn. As far as I could tell, she did a great job except for one bar in each stanza where, as far as I can tell, she played a higher octave than she should've. I complimented her on learning it well except for that one bar, about 4 notes, and she and two others jumped all over my ass calling me a creepy old man that doesn't know shit about music (music has BEEN my life, ALL my life!!) and calling me all sorts of names and throwing insults at me!!
And, this was far from the first time this has happened to me!! Rather than take the compliment AND the advice/suggestion, I get chewed out for trying to help!!

"I think you did a great job but there are a couple places where you could have done much better."

Then vanish off the face of the Earth and don't tell her what her mistakes were. She doesn't deserve your wisdom.

People think they are so safe behind a screen. Theyre dumbasses and can't handle criticism. Anytime i have gotten criticism i never see it as bad. I put it to use, it improves me.

That's exactly what it's supposed to do. You learn from your mistakes or if someone else has to point them out to you.
I just saw another of our videos and noticed how my speed seems to have fluctuated a bit during the song. I never notice that when I'm ON stage!! So, now, I'm gonna have to at least try to watch that from now on. Nobodty's ever said it to me before so, how would I know?
