I would think this would be a slap in the face to Democrats that actually watch left-wing media. He didn't say what the idiot media thought he said. He was saying the alternative to attacking Iran is they attack us, ever since their two stated primary reasons for making nukes was to obliterate Israel and the USA.

There's reasonable legal precedent for attacking rogue states before they attack us. Even the first Gulf War was like that. Saddam posed little direct threat to the USA, but because he attacked NATO and OPEC states, the USA intervened. Likewise, Trump attacked Iran because, well a nuclear Iran WOULD attack Israel and other friendly nations. They've been attacking Israel for my entire life indirectly through terrorist organizations, and if they had the power to do so, they'd attack the USA on our homeland. It's that simple.
