So even if Democrats win Senate , Republicans still have time to replace Alito with a judge to the right. Usually Congress breaks Dec 18th and new Senate comes in January.

The quickest a Justice has been replaced since 1970 is 19 days. Barrett took just 30 days. Republicans will have 25 days in Nov and 18 days in December for 43 days to do it.
