Let's say, Trumps MAGA support collapses, loses midterms badly, and Trump tries to hold onto power. Many people take to the streets to protest his goverment. Trump uses force and kills thousands of them to hold power.
China senses weakness and launches strikes and a blockade along with sanctions.
The US military is decimated. It's Navy and Air Force become nonexistent. China strikes at will on the homeland. Trump responds with striking all his neighbors, and shipping. It causes chaos, but harms him too.
The Economy collapses. The Dollar becomes worthless. The GDP shrinks. The US can't export anything. It's people can't afford basics. Trumps government sees division and his own supporters are fighting him. People are killing random government officials, police, and military in the streets. Minority communities are launching attacks.
Even neighboring countries like Canada are exporting goods just fine, just not Trump because he's unable to completely impact trade and the Chinese blockade prevents him. He even uses rebel forces in other countries with limited impact.
The best thing going for Trump is media and political figures in China that are mainly interested in attacking Xi and taking control, and an increase in price of certain goods.
Is Trump in a stronger strategic position now? Is he better liked by his neighbors? Has Trump given the Chinese a humiliating generational defeat? Will all people in the US turn MAGA? Will you? ☺ I think you will!!
If no, why do liberals lie about Iran? 🤔 Interesting food for thought, considering this is the current situation, and the current arguments from them. 🤷♂️
Be consistent, admit in this hypothetical you'd become MAGA and have a picture of Trump on your house.

There's not many countries that would prefer China to overtake the US as leader of the free world. However, if given the choice of siding with Trump or XI, a lot of countries are going to side with Xi for the next two years because he's mentally stable. Evil but predictable. Plus, siding with China aligns with most countries long term goals right now as more countries have struck trade deals with them in the last 12 months and are now dependent on their technology.
The other thing is, China doesn't attack militarily. It's not their MO. Watch what they are doing in Taiwan right now. Their Navy is circling Taiwan running military exorcises and freaking Taiwan out and causing increased spending from Taiwan and the US to deploy ships as a defense. China will wear them down until the US can't afford to keep up defending and Taiwan caves an. They aren't interested in war and haven't fought one since 1979 and that one only lasted one month. They release 5 year plans that are very chilling and they are very open about taking Taiwan and their plans for the US are economic defeat through wiping out American manufacturing, denying the US rare earth minerals and disrupting biotech supply chains. That is how they are attacking the US and they are very open and honest about it because they want everyone to know.

Interesting parallel you drew between the US and Iran. The liberal hypocrisy just stems from the fact that half of the people hate Trump. We saw the same thing when they were fighting over the dictator of Venezuela.
