+1 yIn a way, I do kind of agree that most women think like that.
Someone here made a brilliant example about pregnancy. Men are expected to 'man up' , be responsible, and take care of their actions. Whereas if a woman decides to get an abortion mainly based on the fact that she doesn't feel ready for parenthood, society is so accepting of that.
A guy isn't ready for parenthood financially or mentally so he backs out. He's wrong.
A woman isn't ready for parenthood finically or mentally so she backs out and gets an abortion. It's commonly accepted.
Yeah, there are your people like me who are completely against abortion and speak out against it, but for the most part if there was a girl you were cool with and found out she had an abortion, a lot of people would be like "awww, poor you. It's okay, you were young and foolish" but if there was a guy you were cool with and found out he had a child that he just left behind, a lot of people, including myself, would view him differently in a negative way.52 Reply- +1 y

Anonymous(30-35)+1 ySome women, sure. But MOST women want men and women to be equal. They want to break the stupid double standards that society has built (men are commended for sleeping with a lot of girls, women are condemned for sleeping with many men, that kind of thing). Women just want to break free of that, have the same respect as a man does, be able to work the same jobs at the same rate as a man does. Women want to be able to make it to a manager or CEO of a company and not hear whispers of who she f***ed to get there, or how much of a hard ass she is and what a bitch.
Most women also want men to have a fair shot in custody courts. They want men and women to be treated equally when it comes to taking maternity/paternity leave. They want men and women to have the same sentencing process for equal crimes. That's what a feminist is.
So no, it's not true, not by a long shot. It's just something jaded guys say 'cause some girl did something that pissed them off and they're too much of a baby to handle it.23 Reply
Opinion Owner+1 yDid you not read the entirety of my answer? Most women are looking for equality for everyone in every situation. I also didn't list all the double standards against women. I was just giving one, very prominent example.
I'm calling the men who say that all women are feminazi man haters jaded because they are. Any one who generalizes a whole sex like that is. Women who generalize men into one awful clump are jaded bitches. I don't discriminate with my insults.
Some women don't really care about things such as equality, they don't care about much outside of their personal lives. However, there is an overwhelming number, including myself, who wants equality. Like they said, when would equality NOT benefit?.. Anyways, I've always thought that people should be not be judged or penalized or put on a pedestal for factors they cannot control: Age, gender, ethnicity, color, sexual orientation. Rather their capacity to reason, work, or contribute to society should be looked at. If one person does the job better, chromosomes shouldn't matter. If the husband makes a better parent/provider, he should have child custody. A woman should not hit a man, and he should not hit her, because it's CHILDISH. Men should be able to wear skirts if they choose without stigma. We wear pants, why can't they wear skirts.. enjoy the breeze? But that's just my opinion.

I completely agree.
IMO it's pointless to even talk about equality in terms of gender or race... This is just something politicians like to do to try to gain political power for themselves... buying votes from certain demographics. Men and women are already equal under the law, except in special circumstances, mostly dealing with reproductive differences.
As far as women earning equal pay for equal work... I never understood what statistics these are based on. Private employers have the right to pay workers whatever they want and for whatever reason they have. If an employer thinks a woman should be paid less based on the chance that she may get pregnant at some point, it is their right to do so. The employee also has the choice to seek work elsewhere where they may get higher pay.10 Reply
First of all, generalities about women are just as bad as generalities about a race, religion or orientation. Don't insult an entire gender in one sweeping sentence.
Second, there are many women who fit this statement. Like women will say they want to be treated as equals to men, but expect their man to pay for every meal, movie ticket, taxi, ect. BUT --and this is an important "but"-- MOST women who fight for equality want exactly that. Equality. There will be disagreements between the sexes from time to time on what exactly constitutes equality because not all things are cut down the middle like that (the choice for or against abortion being a huge one), but the ultimate goal for most women fighting for equality is absolute equality.70 Reply

The problem is that equality is enemies with freedom, as nature does not make all equal. If people have freedom, they will not be equal, because people will always have talents for certain things which end up making them unequal.
Also, women are unable to be men, period. They just can't. So to be equal, men must then become women.
That's why "equality" is something we should avoid.10 ReplyIt depends on the woman. There are plenty of selfish women out their that want to take advantage of what ever angle they can play. Then their are ones that seem to have a balanced perception of things and understand they need to give back as well. I've known some good women, and a whole lot more bad women. It doesn't look good if I were to give an honest assessment, but the good news is I only need to find one good one and leave all the rest of the mess behind.

+1 yI duno, I don't think so, it really just sounds like women who want equality want to be treated like a man lol -- in everything, which doesn't really make sense to me. < This is just the jist I get from what I've heard from the girls who go on about equality.

my girlfriend thinks that, society is treating women like men now lol. she thinks it's funny :)
+1 ythe more equal to the man they become, the more they become like a man. My girlfriend says that. girls should be girls and man should be a man. I also agree.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yI agree with it.
Everytime a woman harps on about equality, I ask them a simple question - If you hit a man, can he hit you back?
Usual answer - A man should *never* hit a woman.
So yeah. F***that equality.25 Reply- +1 y
A man should never hit another man, either. Hitting is for angry children. That has nothing to do with the fact that men and women are equal intellectually and should get the same rights and chances in life.
Opinion Owner+1 yThat's why I always phrase it in the self-defense format - if she hits you first...
And yeah, typical women - only interested in being "equal" to men when it suits them.- +1 y
Exactly, self defense. If there is a woman hitting you who is going to cause you real damage then you should defend yourself. But if a woman hits you and it does nothing but damage your pride, and you hit her back, you're most likely going to pack way more in that punch and beat up on a hypothetically defenseless. That's why people argue that men should never hit a woman, because normally, they ARE physically weaker. But it should apply in any situation of strong vs weak.

hypothetically defenseless person*
+1 yEquality always benefits women, just as it benefits people of different races and religions. Not being discriminated against should be a birth right.

I approach men. I know some women don't because that's the way it was traditionally done (and I guess it's easier for them), but I think life would get pretty boring if I didn't chase guys.
As for role expectations, I'm not too sure what you mean, specifically. - +1 y
Gender role expectations are dying. Women bring home the bacon and men clean the house. It's no longer as big of a deal as it used to be. I don't feel like tasks should be gender specific.
- +1 y
I think the biggest thing that's holding women back from equality is some men's refusal to give up their power and some women's refusal to take control.

i like your view but women today complain about splitting the bill, complaining about loss of chivalry, getting extra breaks than men, a few other specifics. those are the most common. good news is that women who do get in to engineering actually enjoy it. there is no agenda to stop thema. most just lose interest except the ones made for it. thats kind of what a lot of people have a problem with. pushing women into these roles. you can't force it. you have to let people go into these jobs and adapt to these habits. i like your comment. too bad its more rare than you can see.
+1 yI'm in the middle on this, but obviously, some women think like that.
