Do women really want equality with men?

Question

So I've got a simple question. 
It's a well known fact (no, I'm not going to bother citing sources) that young, single women are much more inclined to vote left/liberal/democrat, while married women are much more inclined to vote right/conservative/republican. 
It's also a known fact that white men are an overwhelming part of the right. 
It's also a known fact that the left and their followers are overwhelmingly more in favor of social welfare programs, while the right and their followers are overwhelmingly not, believing people should support themselves.
So I've got a question. 
Single women overwhelmingly supported Obama and his more welfare-like policies, such as Obamacare. This, among other things, now charges men (who die sooner and cost less to keep healthy) more money, so that women can pay less (despite costing more to keep healthy and living years longer). 
So in other words, women want to be respected as equals and be independent, but overwhelmingly supported all men being taxed/charged higher rates to subsidize their health care/birth control/abortions. 
That doesn't sound like wanting to be equal and independent to me.

I'm going to be honest here, so I'm going to do it anonymously because people get hateful about this kind of thing.

I would be perfectly happy going back to when women didn't work and just stayed home with the kids and cooked and cleaned, that would be awesome to me. I consider myself a republican I'm also from the Bible Belt, so knowing that, this may not surprise anyone. I don't care to be equal, but an alarming number of men don't seem to be able to support their families on their own, so I am planning on going to college and getting a good degree that I will be able to find a job in if need be; HOWEVER, if when I get married my man can support me and our future family, I will be staying with my babies, cooking, and cleaning for my man. That's how it should be.

I don't think women want to ACTUALLY be equal. If we're going to be equal then what's stopping them from forcing every 18 year old girl to sign up for the draft like they do the guys? Equality means equality and I think when it comes to things like that people start making excuses as to why women shouldn't do this or that. Maybe I'm just dumb or something, but it's how I feel.

Not all feminists hate men, that's an unfair assumption, I think some of them really do want to be "equal" but I don't. And some women do hate men, but that's stupid.

All of the single women who are voting for Obama are not doing so simply because men die sooner so women will pay less. I doubt anyone is thinking like that.

You want to talk about voting trends? Okay. You say most married women vote Republican and single women vote Democrat. But perhaps this is not because of their relationship status, and more to do with their age: The unmarried women are probably in their 20s, college age or just out of college. Most people in their 20s, women AND men, vote Democrat. So you could very well say that it has nothing to do with men footing the health care bill- it's just that all young voters want universal health care and less college loans and believe in equal social rights (marriage equality, prochoice, etc) and THAT is why people in their 20s vote Democrat- not because the girls are single.

I'm not a feminist, I'm a equalist. I want equal rights between men and women but not in a way that degrades men. I believe that if you make the same amount of money, regardless of gender, you should be charged the same amount of money.

Its not, womens right were manipulated by the democrats in the past 8 years.
Even three days ago, the president talked about the inequality of pay between men and women; yet there are few profession women enter into where they are at serious risk of death.
Men hold these jobs way more, and likewise get justly compensated.

Besides the fact that all females employed by the Obama white house make only 83% of they're male counterparts.

Female staff members employed by democrat/republican senators + congressman; get paid significantly less by the democrats.

Women are not, and will never be equal to a man.
AND
Men are not, and will never be equal to a woman.
A woman is Naturally (naturally occurs) better at nurturing/advocating than a man.
And
A man is Naturally (naturally occurs) better at providing/protecting than a woman.

The only equality would come from teamwork, and this just doesn't jive well with particular peoples' political agendas; so it is and will be entirely ignored.

You are correct QA. Most women don't want real equality. They want equality when it benefits them but not when it requires them to compromise.

Your Obamacare example is a good one. Women do indeed cost significantly more in terms of healthcare expenditures and yet men and women pay the same under the law. By contrast, the auto insurance premiums for males are higher than for females because...men cost more. Can you imagine the outrage we would see if the auto industry decided to make male and female premiums equal?

Let's look at an example of what feminists consider as "equality". Sweden is commonly regarded as the most "gender equal" country in the world due to the power wielded by the feminist party there. Here's a sample of the brand of "equality" that feminists have shoved down the throats of Swedish men:

Ignoring everything else for the time being, do you really think that women were the only demographic that voted for Obama?

Obama not only carried women, he also overwhelmingly carried African -Americans, Hispanics, Asians , and "other" races. In addition, he carried the 18-29 age group and the 30-44 age group, and he narrowly lost on taking the 45-64 age group (narrowly losing it to Romney 47-51).

So basically, if you're a woman, or if you're black/Hispanic/ Asian /"other" race, or if you're ages 18-44 (and almost up to 64!), then you dislike equality.

Women were wrong when they claim for equality because men and women can never be equal because they are different creatures.. its like kangaroo demands equality like of horse..The question of equality never arises since they have different roles to fulfill..

For the simple reason women have been deprived her power and authority for thousands of years by men, they cannot demand equality and now both men and women forgot their respective roles. woman can do far better in many areas than men. it is a question of division of roles and not of equality..

Radicals of every ideal ruin things for the rest of them. Feminists are destroying the equality battle between genders. People who rise up to speak out about equality of anything (from race to gender to sexual orientation), if they present it in a radical way, they are automatically discredited and actually set their mission back. I don't know why people can't voice an opinion in a way that can be professional. Problem is no one educates themselves in America enough on anything anymore.

I don't think so not fully at least say for example if a woman fights back against a guy whether it was a verbal battle or physical and if she lost she would then mention her femininity  and how vulnerable and powerless she felt, but if she beat up the guy she would be either showboating about it or not be singing that same tune. Either way this is a touchy subject
