Does the amount of w's in an 'aw' change the meaning?

does the amount of w's you put in an 'aw' mean anything?

hahah weird question I know, but my friend and I are debating it. I think that 'aw' - just a normal word, like aw yeah.. But 'aww" means like aww cute, and then "awww" means.. sorry/that sucks.

I don't think it means anything hugely different. I use 'Aw' and 'Aww' quite a bit, and the difference between the two for me is like when I say, 'Aw, that sucks' and 'Aww, that's so cute'. It's just the way I'm actually saying it, and so that's how I'm typing it out, if that makes sense? I also say 'Oh' and 'Ohh' a lot, and I use them differently like 'Oh, I see' and 'Ohh, I get it now' :p

No. It just depends on context. If someone responds with either 'aww' or 'awwww' when they see a cute puppy, they mean the same thing.

When someone says 'awww' when they see a child fall and start crying, it obviously means their heart is going out to the child.

no. I don't count out the w's to mean a certain thing. I mean what I mean by the context in which I respond back to it.
