it really depends, when I say AWW to guys, its usually to guys I'm not interested in and just see them as a guy friend and pal.it means theyre cute or something they did was so cute we say aww, some of my guy friends have also told me they hate it when we call em cute or say aww, because it places us girls higher above them and they feel like a little brother.and they wanna be the man. so I would say AWW means a girl sees herself higher above you, or ahead of the game in someway.
but also I have liked guys before and I said aww to them when they told me something new or something cute they did, like buy their sister a thoughtful bday gift or sacrifice their time to help a friend out, and I subconsiously responded by saying AWW! so AWW can mean a compliment as well.its a way of saying we are flattered by you. so it really deppends on what you told your girl and what convo you guys had.if ur sucking up to her and being obvious you like her, she may say AWW and think ur a rookie in dating or something and AWW can be degrading, or if you told her something new and heart-touching, something sweet and revealed something new about you, she may be flattered and say AWWWW to see a new shade of you! it also depends what kind of girl she is, if she's bitchy and popular shell probably say AWW#1 because she probably gets male admirers all the time and sees you as a rookie, or if she's sweet, innocent and average, she most likely meant AWW #2 being flattered by you.and admires you in some way
and :) usuallly are said when there's nothing else to say.its not intentional to provoke mystery, I usuallly put smilies in texts and fb or other indirect ways like email to be on the safe side, so the wrong tone doesn't come out.bc when you talk indirectly some things can be taken as rude or read the wrong way, so adding :) at the end of the sentence is to make the reader know its a good thing and prevents them from reading something the wrong way.causing drama eventually,
but at the same time :) can be said when there's nothing else to say, so like I said, if ur girl is bitchy or too popular has some cockyness or ego, she just not might want to take the convo further with you and she doesn't have anything to say and insnt interested so she replies with a :), but if she continues replying and writing a lot with :)'s in them, then its to remind you that she means good to you and doesn't want you to read something out of context.

I love questions like this.
You have to remember that its different for every girl.
Usually when I say "awwwwww" it refers to me thinking something is "cute" or "sweet" or "you just made me smile".
A smiley face :) means she's smiling, silly! Or that she is thinking some thoughts. ;) Everytime you have a conversation with the girl face to face, does she often say "awwww" and does she often smile? She is just putting emotions into her texts, ladies get detailed often, ya know. She just happens to be really good at it.
I usually use "aw" when I think a guy is being sweet or cute, and only use it to the guys I am intersted in.
"(:" can mean anything, sometimes if I'm bored with the conv. I'll put a smilie to be nice, but other times, I'll put a lot of smiles to show the guy I'm interested, I'm smiling at what he's saying.
no idea good question. if it is an emoticon then she is is using shit we haven't figured out out et. just ask her
