Why do guys' voices go really husky when making out?

I was making out with this guy I like, and between kisses he said, 'i want you.. No one else but you. I want you..' his voice was really husky and sexy. Why did his voice change?

I forget where I read it, but some research showed that its a subconscious reaction to men being around women in general. Something about appearing to be more masculine and strong with a deeper voice. Some chemicals in the brain get guys all screwy and so without his knowing he will probably change the pitch of his voice slightly.

I saw a vague study somewhere that men deepen their voices to sound more manly when trying to attract a girl. Women make their voices higher pitched and more feminine when they are in the presence of a guy they like.
