And I'm not talking about half naked, sexting pictures. Like, my crush will send me a cute picture of himself and then he'll be like, "so where's my pic at? :p"

Is this a sign that he likes me or is it just a thing that guys do?

If you didn't ask for the pic/s and he sent them of his own accord, then chances are he likes you. Asking for a pic in return also a sign that he likes you.. wants to see more of you. You should send a pic, see what happens.

It depends. If these are just innocent pics, then that would be fine. However, you need to be wary of escalation, where he starts sending you explicit or risque pictures and expects you to reciprocate in kind.
