So it's a bad fortune?

um and i'm just spit balling here, perhaps we ought to think from the perspective of the sky. perhaps the tree is just as distant as the light from mars. um so the tree is the light from mars we are the sky. if we are the sky this would complicate our peers interpretation of the proverb as an expression of human limitation. Rather, the proverb suggests we think of ourselves as unlimited or de-limited. For what is a sky with roots? No sky at all.

it means tht no matter hw high you reach, you will never get too high. You have much too learn and you always will

my interpretation would be... that while trees are colossal and majestic, they will always be rooted in the ground. taking it a bit further... powerful, formidable people are just people. they'll die like everything else on the planet.

Maybe it means a tree never touches the sky but it keeps growing and I guess relating to people that would be striving and pursing a goal. Two interpretations, but no I don't think it 's a bad fortune.
