Why do girls like a guy that can defend himself, but try to stop a fight when he defends himself?

The question says it all. why do girls like a guy that can handle himself, but when he is serious about fighting the girl tries to stop them from fighting? I mean when I do fight, I don't mess around I will hurt you, because I was in martial arts for 8 years, but seriously why? Do you want to know that we can protect you, but don't like to see people get physically hurt? And when would you stop someone? When the person is serious about fighting, or is pissed, or just counters the blows?

Its because getting in fights actually hurts, and it sucks.

I do martial arts as well, and what you learn in class is a LOT different from an actual fight, I've sparred with guys who are twice my size (with equipment) and its fun in a controlled environment, but I would not want to fight ANYONE.

Using your wit to disarm a person is a much smarter strategy then getting into a fist fighting them.

Females are attracted to 'protectors' because we make them feel safe.

I think you should stop yourself when in a fight if the other person says they are done, or you've ripped one of their bones out and they are on the ground just screaming in pain.

Basically be willing to fight someone, and act like you will f*** them up if they want to fight,

but try to get out of it, and don't go around challenging people to fights.

I try not to throw a punch unless I have to, because when I do I do it to immobilize the person, and even then that's dangerous because I go for vital places like the Adam's apple, neck, knee, etc. I usually try to use their momentum against them, and just throw them into the wall. And yes sparing is a lot different from street fighting. But it can be applied to work effectively. most people throw wide open punches.

Its because girls don't want their boyfriends to get hurt. Sure we want to know that the guy can defend himself and us should he need to, but if it is possible to prevent the guy from getting hurt, we want to prevent it. We don't want to see a guy get injured. Its just nice to know that the guy can protect himself and protect us if it is necessary. If its not necessary, a fight should not happen. A guy should not get into a fight just because he can defend himself. Its immature and if the guy is our boyfriend it puts a lot of stress and worry on us.

I would stop someone if it was over something stupid... I mean you gotta pick your battles... I'd try and stop it before someone actually gets hurt... unless someone really needs their ass kicked... haha

What so if you knew the guy wasn't going to get hurt, you'd allow them to fight?

What if your guy doesn't start the fight, and the other guy just keeps on insisting, and eventually throws a punch.

Yeah, if they weren't gonna get hurt, then sure haha... fights are hot.

if my guy didn't start the fight, and the other threw a punch, I'd scream at him and probably punch him myself if I could, kick him in the balls, scratch, bite, slap... haha be a bitch to him (the other guy that is... not my guy lol) I can get protective. but that's just me. all I'd want is to distract him enough to give my guy a chance to get to his feet, then that's all... if we couldn't get away safely, and if there was

like what if something bad happens, what's the other guy gonna do, etc.

i do want to have that feeling that you can protect me

but don't get into any unnecessary fights

or any fights if you can help it.

We do like the fact that he's willing to fight but we don't want to actually see anyone get hurt. There's really no fun in that...having to deal with the cops and ambulances and whatnot.

But if the other guy starts it we're just apposed to stand there, and take it?

What if a guy just throws the guy, and counters like Judo. He doesn't throw any punches, just uses the attacks momentum against him. Or restrains him, Like a choke hold, or sleeper hold. Rear naked choke?

Well in terms of self-defense I wouldn't try to stop him because if someone provoked my boyfriend like that I would expect him to defend himself...girls just tend to freak out when it gets out of hand.
