Girlfriend posting photos of herself on Instagram

Hi, I was hoping I could get some answers from you ladies regarding my situation.

I've been seeing this girl for 4 months now, everything is incredible, and we're both crazy about one another, BUT, there's one thing that bothers me..and I feel it's silly, so I never bring it up. I'm not even sure why it bothers me? I trust her %110, and I'm the furthest thing from being insecure, so I don't know what's up..

Anyway, my girlfriend uses twitter, FB, and Instagram. I'm 31, she's 30, so this isn't young love stuff. I use no social media anymore. I just never really found it useful, and I'm fine with her using them.

The problem is, I get bothered when she posts pictures of herself on Instagram. They're not provocative at all, or her trying to be sexy, just a normal picture, headshot. It makes me feel as if she's just seeking validation from other people on her appearance, which in turn, makes me feel like I'm not doing a good enough job at making her feel attractive. I just don't understand why strangers "liking" a photo mean more than what your boyfriend thinks.

Am I wrong about feeling this way? It just makes me uncomfortable..

Women are more social than men, and that's why so many women are on Facebook and Instagram posting endless pictures of themselves. My 13-year-old niece probably posts 10+ pictures of herself a day, every day, out of the dozens she takes. I realize that your girlfriend is much older, but women's desire to be social never really goes away.

A lot of the validation that she's getting (maybe most of it) will be coming from other WOMEN. They'll talk about her makeup and outfits and hairstyles and all kinds of crap that you have no real desire to talk about, so it's GOOD that she has an outlet for that, or YOU would have to listen to it 2 hours a day.

As long as you are communicating with each other, and meeting the needs that you have of each other, it's totally fine to have other friends and other interests. You don't need to be her WHOLE LIFE, just a major part of it.
