Does anyone else see Hal (from the movie Megamind) as the stereotypical nice guy?

Think about it:

- He had a huge crush on hot girl Roxanne

- He felt entitled to her because he was her friend

- He spent every waking moment trying to impress her and win her over

- When he got super powers, he thought they could finally be together (since he thought Roxanne liked Metro Man for his powers)

- When Roxanne rejected him, he saw no reason to impress her anymore and started using his powers for evil.

Isn't that how the typical self-proclaimed nice guy is? He acts nice because he thinks that will get him the girl, and when that doesn't work he shows his true colors. It just seems that most guys who claim to be "nice guys" aren't genuinely nice.

Maybe you can help me understand why exactly girls hate nice guys. With a little luck, it may even be rational.

Anyway, why is it assumed they aren't really nice after they are burned a few times? How is anyone any different? To use that and say they aren't genuinely nice is completely illogical. It makes so little sense. Yeah, they should be figuratively kicked around with a smile on their face.

Also, why do say they are entitled? Actually working towards a goal, not getting it, and letting off steam by complaining is not entitlement. Perhaps you should look that word up. If he was sitting on his ass doing absolutely nothing and expects a bunch of girls to fly at him, THAT would make him entitled.

So if it is at all possible to give a logical reason why girls such as yourself have such disdain for those guys, I would like to hear it. If you just like guys that have a bit of an edge to them, just say that. It's fine, but there's still no reason to put down guys that don't have that and aren't lucking out quite as much. And when you have children, be sure their father is in their lives teaching them the proper way to be so they won't fall into that category. That's the time when girls change their tunes when it comes to how their sons should go about it.

Everyone acts a certain way in order to fit into society. It has more to do with a lack of confidence and fear of the consequences of their actions that keep people in line. I really believe the average person would turn evil if they got superpowers. People with power have always taken advantage of those without power.
