What do guys think of girls who can't dance? Or are a little uncoordinated?

I'm not the most coordinated person in the world, I'm a petite build, but tall for my size, so just a little "lanky", but not overly. So I feel a bit self conscious about my arms, and what to do with them etc.
Usually, I won't join in in the dancing, and sit on the side to watch, but last night at a wedding, I decided I didn't care, and had one of the best nights ever, dancing with my friends. We were kind of silly at times, but got really into it.
I noticed some guys were watching me, maybe they thought I looked stupid, but I didn't really care, because I was having fun.

So what do you think? Do you think it is unattractive and a turn off? Do you think some girls are best not dancing, and sitting on the side, watching?
I'd love to know your opinions! :)

Well I am not a good dancer either, so you are not alone. :) I don't think it is a turn off at all. If I knew a girl well and we both could not dance very well and wanted to be able to I would suggest we went to dance classes together. It is not a big deal in my opinion as long as the girl is having fun. If a guy is going to judge you for that then he is so shallow and not worth your time. I do feel that some girls and some guys are shy about dancing if they are not good at it. It is far more important she knows how to have fun :)

Thanks for your answer! I think it is more to do with comfort in one's own skin, and forgetting about what others think. I think everyone knows how to move to some extent, but some are just held back, and feel stupid, forgetting what to do when in public. I can dance really well when I'm on my own in my room, but I just get nervous, and self conscious when in public. Unfortunately most dance classes teach more formalised dancing, rather than just how to dance by yourself, or with friends in a crowd. I think I just need to learn a few dance moves really well, and I will feel a lot more confident. YouTube has some good instructional videos too, maybe you can have a look on there also? :)

I heard in a film once that this was refered to the music moving someone ugly. Anyway, I think it's cute. At the end of the day, most guys don't like to dance and if the girl isn't as good at dancing, there isn't as much pressure. I'm sure it's not as bad as you think, and I think those guys were probably either envious or checking you out. It's a attractive when a girl puts down her guard and has pure fun and wears an unrestricted smile. :)

Haha I've always wondered this. I'm a good dancer ONLY if the conditions are right (if I'm with the right friends, if I like the song that's playing, if I've had caffeine, sugar, or alcohol...). But the rest of the time, I look like something horribly uncoordinated and confused.

I don't really dance but I tell this to people up front. If they don't believe me and try to get me to dance, they are unpleasantly surprised when they force me and that's the end of that lol...

no, it is fine. I don't have a clue how to dance and I don't. and I won't. I play by baseball rules and get a designated dancer to fill my spot for the first dance at my wedding and any other dance she may want to have that night.

Wow, that is quite extreme. In the past, I probably would have felt tempted to do something like that too , but dancing is just so fun. Have you tried dancing before?

Haha well yeah, that was me in the past too, but I've realised that no one actually cares. And the amount of fun is well worth the embarrassment. My advice is to dance in the middle of the crowd, so you can't really be seen, and choose someone to copy their dance moves, until you start to pick up your own moves. I really do recommend it :)

i mean depending on the girl it might be a bit unattractive, but if it is an attractive girl with a decent personality i'd actually find it quite attractive. the simple fact that she doesn't care what she looks like and is confident enough to have fun is great. nothing like a girl who can be herself.

Well I ended up going back to the hairdresser, and she put a "bleach wash" through it, which helped lighten the brown, and it looks really nice now, which is a relief :)

I thought bout it but just answered E in the poll; didn't write anything. I have seem lots of women doing their own thing, sometimes looking like a wild woman. :-) I am not so sure the wild woman looks that appealing, but at least she is having fun. But most dancers, men or women, doing their own thing, show that they are at least trying and enjoying themselves. And that is the kind of person I like to know.

What if you can see she has potential, e.g. She can pick up the beat, and can move a bit, but just holds herself back a bit, due to being a little self conscious, and doesn't know too many dance moves? Still a let down?

Not at all. That sounds like a girls way of thinking. A girl knowing how to shake her booty though can look sexy. But I don't think most males would care about normal dancing , I don't, my mates don't even the ones who good dancers.
