Aka , life has never been better, technology, smart phones, computers, hygiene, ease of cities and automobiles and airplanes and all the modern luxuries of clean western countries. Yet all this and yet I often read or hear doomsday sensationalism in media or news stories always putting morale down *aka societal morale down, not mine personally I'm always upbeat* lol - are we in broader societal decline or are puppet masters who push and promote for that vibe? I for one didn't mind the Covid lockdown.

Christian nationalism is a political ideology and cultural framework that merges Christian and American identities, threatening democracy and religious freedom in the process. Christian nationalism is also a highly-funded and well-organized movement that uses the symbols and language of Christianity as political props in service of gaining and maintaining power. The movement’s goal is to transform the secular nature of democracy into an authoritarian theocracy. Some people believe that Christian nationalism is the single greatest threat to religious freedom in the United States today.

I am a millennial, but on the tail end. I was born in 1994, and a lot of my peers are GenZ'ers. My school years were mainly in the 2000s.

Many of the older generations, like my grandparents generation, kept a tight ship. They were more diciplined with an emphasis on manners. Sadly, that generation is dying off.

I feel we are left with a complete disaster. I am losing faith in humanity.

On one hand, intelligence should be critical. On the other hand, lots of people tend to discard it when voting. What do you think?

Everything about modern life is just so completely wrong and strange. We have a situation where, at any moment, millions of people could instantly die at the turning of a couple of keys at some missile base somewhere, when ordered to do so by some senile "world leader". People froth at the mouth over text on an electronic screen that some stranger half a world away posted on this thing called 'The Internet', while others are confused about what gender they are when all they have to do to settle the question is just look between their legs. We have naive young people who don't know any better openly supporting communism, while everyone else is deeply nostalgic for a past that only ever existed in their imagination because life now has become unbearable, even though from a purely material perspective things have never been better. In some countries (like Canada) the government has no issue with murdering its own citizens (euthanasia), while in others (Australia, England) the police act like the Gestapo when someone just expresses an opinion that isn't politically correct. In many nations people now actually accept constant surveillance if in return they're promised, by their government, security and safety.

This isn't normal. For most of man's history, things just weren't like this. What went wrong, how did we end up this way?

A man is accused of rape, and it goes to trial. In the US legal system, the prosecutors cannot hide information that may exonerate the defendant, they must share it; however, if the defense has information pointing to the defendant's guilt, it doesn't have to turn it over.

My point: in a system of justice, both sides would want the innocent exonerated, and the guilty punished. In our system, that does not happen. The defense's job is to make sure the defendant gets off no matter his guilt. Helping a guilty man go free may not be as bad as helping an innocent man get punished, but both are affronts to justice.
