Formula 1 In 2025 "Should" Be Good

First off...moment of silence for how dirty they did Yuki with this years teams photo. Yuki is on a riser, and he has to be in that position because of Racing Bulls finishing position last year, but there wasn't an additional apple box...come on!

Anywhooooooo, if Australia was any indication of things to come, I can't wait for the rest of 2025. Obviously conditions were insane, especially for a rookies first race, so fair play to them for coming out of it as best they could, but I'm absolutely tingling to see what happens in China on a dry track on a Sprint Race weekend.

I am both a McLaren and Ferrari fan, so mixed emotions after the first race, but if we based a whole entire season for any of these teams on what a race with a bunch of circumstances that are atypical was, there would be a lot of people losing bets.

With let's say 6 Rookies (geezus if we have to keep debating what is a rookie for the billionth time) this year making up the grid, there are just so many new variables including seeing who's actually got pace in their cars and who still sucks and who is rising above. I've got one foot on the Williams hype train because after all these years, there is an inkling of hope, and they need it. New sponsors, new driver, relatively new team boss, let's go. Motivation is high, P4, nay, P5 first race is let's say it, GREAT...for a Williams.

With McLaren, just hoping the team doesn't get screwed on Flexi wings. In good old Formula 1 fashion, as soon as they make a rule, and a team figures out how to skirt that rule, and innovates and does something that gives them the edge, gotta shut them down. Same old story. Now it's just McLaren everyone is whining about vs. say Red Bull.

China here we come. First race down, third of the drivers knocked out, it's time to really see who is going to put up or shut up. Everyone has two opportunities to really show what they've got and barring any technical issues, results will start to speak for themselves.

And I just assume when you say Yuki (is sounds Asian) and there’s a guy barely seen in the pic and also looks Asian I’m just guessing he’s yuki and then they had him behind a tall guy lol (another guy I don’t really know)

I think they could have it like Yuki swap with the guy to his right.

This way Yuki stands above the blonde curly haired dude and then the dude who swapped with Yuki can then swap spots with the tallest guy all the way on the left end in their team.

He (tallest) should be in the place Yuki is now in the photo, cause the guy in front of him is quite tall for the black colors team anyway.

I don't know how this stuff works or the drivers names unfortunately.

I do know it’s a dangerous sport and there has to be a lot of control so hopefully nobody gets hurt this season.

I love McLaren but I hope they don’t dominate the season to the point it becomes boring
I want some back and forth action


Personally I would rather see a McLaren vs Redbull clash for first place more than Ferrari.
Because even though Ferrari is a great team and both drivers are amazing the fans can be a little extreme (both the Tifosi and TEAMLH)
So if it came down to the wire and Ferrari somehow lost we wouldn’t hear the end of it


At least Max vs Lando is all about the racing itself.


Side note: glad to see I’m not the only F1 fan on this app
(To be fair I’m a returning fan since I used to watch as a kid and then stopped for a long time and now I’m back)

Ha, glad to see another F1 fan too! My family ABSOLUTELY hates me when the new season starts because I want to talk about it, and I'm met with blank souless faces, lol. It's tripply hard being a woman, in the US, and an F1 fan because none of my girlfriends watch, can't seem to find another American who watches, so thankfully there is a huge online community (not on this particular app though, but I see a few from time to time)!

Anyway, I cannot do another Max (almost) wins it all season. I'm having to wake up at 2 and 3 am to catch some of these races and knowing the winner every time was depressing. I would love it if this were a season of Max vs. Lando or even Piastri if he can hold it together. If this first Quali is any hint, those fine margins, the 100ths to the finish line, it makes the prospect of who's going to win, and who is going to be on pole worth those early mornings. This year, unfortunately for anyone with a keyboard, the two most toxic fan bases have combined into one with Ferrari and it's going to be a nightmare...a bigger one anyway.

The HAM v VER fan base battles are such a bad display - It has put me off from commenting on many forums, because you just get ripped apart if you speak badly of them

Yeah I get it about 2023. It wasn’t a season I followed closely
But to be fair even if Max wins 10 races this year none of them will be a guaranteed win so we should have an interesting season

I haven’t ran into many people who defend Verstappen religiously the same way Hamilton is treated
But I know the feeling of wanting to have a constructive discussion about a fun sport only to be met with insults and negativity
