Most importantly explain why you think that way.
There are truly no wrong answers to this question, so go bananas!
Dude noo XD This whole debate can get so extremely ugly. There's a whole bunch of factors to consider, there's multitudes of online analyses and youtube videos by experts who delve into the prerequisites for both sides.
Is the knight on foot or by horse? Is the Samurai mounted or not? Are they equally rested or equally equipped with the equivalent quality armor of both cultures? What terrain, what weaponry, what level of training, what *type* of knightly armor and Samurai armor do they bear etc. All these factor into who'd win in a random one on one.
My personal opinion is that in an equal match on all terms, a knight would win based on more effective armor and stronger weaponry. The Katana is very effective, but needs high presicion to deliver lethal blows. And European armor in contrast to Samurai armor had a higher level of focus on endurance. I have seen some videos supporting this but of course, I have bias as well as a proud European.
A knight would win because of armor and weapon selection. The samurai's weapon is for slashing which performs very poorly against that kind of armor. Some knight's armor can withstand musket fire at relatively close range too.
The thing is, knights need horses to get around and then dismount for combat. They can't walk for long distances/miles in that heavy armor (depending on which kind of knight's armor is used) so it would be very expensive for an army to employ many knights.
I watched a documentary on it earlier this year where they testes different sets of armor against different types of weapons. The quality/durability/mobility of knight's armor varied a lot from different groups.

I think these types of fights always depend on the individual skill of the fighter. I also think people are going to be inclined to say samurai because there seems to be a significant folklore behind them. Maybe it's justified but I think it could be over exaggerated.
I think I'd give the edge to the Knight because they would have a longer shield with a shield.
if it was one of these legendary samurais that would travel around the country for fights, then I think they would probably win.
It is almost impossible to know, but I would put my favors on the knight. I would assume that the samurai would have the katana and the knight the long sword, I know they're not the best weapon, but they are the most synonyms with those characters. The long sword is longer I think and the knights, were just a little bit more armor, I think.
There are a lot of factors that could change this but the knight is likely to win if we are assuming they have full plate armour. The katana is great for lighter armour but not particularly suited to stabbing which is one of the ways to get past plate armour. The knights sword would be better able to penetrate the samurais armour.
If the samurai has a spear or if they move to grappling then the knight would lose this advantage though
I would say the knights. They had horses that were well armored and they knew how to knock someone off a horse or run down infantry. Even off a war horse, they had shields and maces along with crushing broad swords. The Samurai were no slough but I think they would lose.
Knights would win. They had stronger weaponry. The katana was smaller and much more flimsy than the long-sword.
Samurai. Katanas are meant to slice through armor. Knights win in the 100 v 100 though since they have a variety of weapons and more range, thus working better in groups than samurai
Well in a 1v1 the knight would win as a Katana is not made for damaging metal armor.
Pirates would win Yo-ho-ho
Lesbian pirates would win, they would start making out in skimpy outfits, bith the knight and samurai would het distracted and drop their aweapons, then other lesbian pirates can sneak oit on the samurai and the pirate and stab them in the open healmet
Can the Katana cut through the knight's armor?
Neither party can cut through armour.
Then the knight would have the advantage
Samurai because they can move faster.
Samurai had bows as well, they could shoot from horseback. If they shoot the horses of the knights who only have melee weapons then they can never catch the samurai who are still on horseback
