Yes they do, because the difference between men and women's physical capabilities is just that big.
Obviously there are some sports were you don't have to because it's reliant on skill and not physical capability like horse back riding or shooting. But when it comes to physical sports using their own bodies yes it does need to be separated.
We got to accept that men and women are built differently. Both our minds and body work differently... Females really can't build much muscle mass as much as guys. Hence guys will always be physically superior than females. Like females can only give birth🤷🏿♀️

I suppose it’s because men and women’s body’s are different? No matter how much a woman works out she’s not going to be stronger than a man who does too. It’s just not possible. 😔 So it would be unfair to pit a woman against a man due to not being able to have that strength. But with skateboarding or something I have no idea. That just seems dumb.
Curling... that’s a good question. I suppose there is no reason for it not to be merely coed. As for skating and whatnot of the similar ilk, also a good question. I mean I suppose a guy could catch “bigger air”, but times competitions and strength versus strength aside, you have a legitimate question. Perhaps pose it to the IOC and see what kind of feedback you get in return. It’s a good as start as any where athletics is concerned at least.
skateboarding is gender-separated? weird I thought it wouldn't be since Elissa Steamer has been in most of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games.
anyways I think they remain this way because is they unite both genders then women are gonna whine and complain more than ever when they get continuously beaten by men since testosterone does make a huge difference
Umm yeah... Cause men will always have a slight advantage in sports cause they have more muscle and are in general built stronger.
Now if you count darts and billiards as sports then those I think should be mixed. Reason being they don't require a whole lot of strength, they're more focused on accuracy and finesse.
And actually if I remember correctly I think archery does have mixed teams.
Any sport with physicality involved has to be separated to make it fair for both men and women. Even in golf and baseball, men hit harder and further on average. In terms of sports like darts and snooker those don't have to be separated, but due to societal influence and long term separation of gender the standard is so distinct it will still take years before men and women can compete on an equal standing.
Baseball and golf are both poor examples because driving strength in golf and throwing strength, swing strength, and speed matter greatly in baseball, and biologically at the elite level men are stronger and faster.
Sports that do not rely upon those things probably should not be separated.
Sports like darts, archery, and chess that don't require being athletic physically, those can be combined. But guys usually have the advantage of being physically more athletic in general than women, though with gymnastics I think women tend to have a little bit of an advantage.
Yes because men don't just have an edge in strength but also in competitiveness. There's many games that don't require strength but men are still better, chess, pro gaming, anything you can think of.
@VIVANT Oh really? Where are the female pro gamers then? They suck. The only females who were ever good were transgender females weird coincidence. Women know they'll make more money streaming with less effort and they don't care as much about winning or being the best as guys. Otherwise we would already have seen female pro gamers.
Even the best female chess player said women don't try as hard. by the way almost all male competitions are open to women too like the NBA or chess or esports but there's just not any women good enough. That's why leagues where only women can compete exist. In chess women do sometimes compete with men but the best women just can't compete for the number 1 spot at least not yet.
I suppose if you say "every" then no but most sports should be separated. More specifically by biological sex. Men are even better at chess but there are a lot of women really good or at least could be good at chess. It's only at the very top where the separation is. So I think non contact sports should still be separated. Unless you want almost no women in the top rankings of the sport, then you can merge them.
I think most sports yes, men are just more physically capable which puts them at a huge advantage over women in almost all sports. Even baseball men have an advantage because they are faster. Golf and curling maybe you have a point, but I don't know much about either sport, so maybe there is a good reason, I don't know.
The only difference in golf is power. More force means more power. More power means the ball travels further. More force means more mass and speed. You get where this is going
Hmm, well... Aren't girls scores sometimes lower then the guys scores, in sports.. like.. think about it... if women's and men's scores were combined to make one score board, a lot of the time, a guy would be first place... I could be wrong
I mean, men and women do have different bodies. It would be like having an apple and orange compete - you can't. There has to be a basic level to compare them to and you can't do that if they're different.
I don't know enough about all sports to really give an answer for that.
Though with a good bit of them sadly you do because we are built differently. Men are physically stronger than women, on average and there is no shame in that.
Some sports like bowling are divided by gender teams. Girls 1 & 2 and Boys 1 & 2 in a high school setting. But in most professional leagues may have coed teams which makes it more fun and enjoyable.
watch the xgames. men jump higher and do more tricks. womem athletes are strong, but only when compared to the average male. Male athletes are are just better and it shows in every single Olympic record or any record for that matter. males hold more impressive results
In most sports. However, there may be a few exceptions such as horse jumping and rifle shooting where strength and muscle mass is not much of a factor.
Few years ago a professional woman's basketball team went up against a boy college basketball team, and said teenagers kicked the shit out of them. Sports is gender segregated because if it wasn't, women wouldn't win anything.
I think that every sport should be separated by gender for specific events, but also that they should have an equally supported non gender specifying event for those who want to see how different people of different genders stack up against each other.
